This was a special one for me. Losing both parents a year apart has been rough. I took time off from playing music but coming back up for air with another opportunity to close out Sunset Campout--the best party in the world--with friends and family meant everything to me. Feels appropriate to post this one on Thanksgiving as I couldn't be more grateful to have all you nice people in my life. As always, a huge thank you to Solar and Galen for having me back and all of the Campout team for making it happen. I spent years pulling tunes for this one so I hope you enjoy listening as much a I enjoyed making it.

" I kept this one a bit peppery, some forthcoming bits from Wu15 on Eglo, a Tenderlonious classic, the yoga master Twit One and of course some excerpts from Ross Kemp on gangs when he visited Peckham. I went for a bit of a vocal narrative so you'll hear little snippets of conversation pop in and out, there's some ancient Chinese musical reworks, Earl Jeffers and ended with some massive inspirations in Larry Heard and Kaidi Tatham. To coincide with the launch of the documentary celebrating the history of the legendary Mo' Wax Records, we asked one of our favourite Montreal DJs, Phil Larochelle, to dive into the back catalogue and record a session consisting of his all-time favourites. 

The imprint founded in 1992 by James Lavelle was home to the some of the forward-thinking genre-defying beats. From DJ Krush to DJ Shadow, Motorbass to Unkle, the label was a melting-pot of Jazz, Hip Hop, Breaks, Trip Hop, Electronica and whatever else artists felt like putting on a slice of wax.
