I was given the honor of playing for @opulentchillmusic at 5pm on burn night (Saturday) at this year's Burning Man. I contemplated leaving the event when driving a friend to Reno on the Thursday before but had spent more than a month collecting and cultivating some music and returned to BRC beyond excited to play... until the weather took a turn for the worst and forced me to miss my set while sheltering in place (you may have seen the news).

A friend and I spent more than eight hours exiting the city (the time it took to reach actual road/pavement) yesterday, and I'm beyond grateful to be home. I wanted to record a mix while my feelings about the past few days and our shared experiences (trauma bonding?) were still fresh. I hope you enjoy!

My big set riding the big OT sound system for '24 was Monday night, prime time before Marten Hørger. Playing out of our new booth re-design on it's maiden voyage was a night for big, funky, infectious bass face tracks with some other dips into acid tinged house and techno that I knew would would sound soooo good on that system in that setting. It was magic. 

I had so many tracks I wanted to play I made my way through like 25 tracks in 75 minutes.  Also entertained myself by dropping some tracks by some of our guests later in the week like Mau P & Max Styler. Thanks to some of my producer/DJ homies who stoked me on some unreleased music. Hope you enjoy this steady rockin' set.

electronica nostalgica vol.1  - proton amplified mix

Burning Man has a tendency to produce some of the most amazing highs you've ever experienced, as well as some challenging moments.  On this Thursday I had been called to handle a very challenging situation the previous night and was super worn out.  It was extra hot that day, and I just couldn't fall asleep to catch up on rest.

Despite that, I ventured out to Camp Cl!t, not sure what to expect.  What I found were such warm and generous people who welcomed me and made me feel at home.  I felt truly uplifted by the hospitality, and I channeled my emotion into one of my best and favorite sets of the burn!

I've been a huge fan of music (and dancing) throughout my life.  Although I'm originally from San Francisco, I lived in Europe as a teenager in the 90s, where I was introduced to early techno and house music.  As an adult, I started attending underground parties where I discovered a wonderful, vast universe of creativity in music.

I love to incorporate a variety of genres into my mixes, including progressive/deep house, disco, hip-hop, and breakbeats.  Some key influences include:
