Welcome aboard The Disco Express to Leeds based disco band, Golden Gate. Fusing classic house and disco sounds their music is inspired by the likes of Masters at Work, Nuyorican Soul, Ashford & Simpson and Chic. Produced by Tee Cooper and songwriter/vocalist Harper Lake, Golden Gate's music is 100% original, recorded in live studios using guitar, bass, strings, flutes, percussion, and it sounds truly brilliant.

Invoking the spirit of 90s NYC house is singer Adeleye Omotayo. Known for his work with Gorillaz and Amy Winehouse, Ade delivers powerhouse vocals on ‘Shine Like The Sun’. Special guest, The Reflex brings his signature disco wizardry in his 'Reflex Revision' having remixed legends like Cerrone, Duran Duran, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Kathy Sledge, Bootsy Collins, Noel Gallagher and Michael Jackson. 🪄

‘So High’ oozes classic disco and showcases the band’s prowess with scintillating strings, flute and keys, made by a worldwide cast of talented musicians. Label boss Bustin' Loose serves up a stripped back, broken beat remix to round off the EP in style.

Both tracks feature Bassist Daniel Dubsworth, who recorded in LA, horns and flutes are played by rising star of Blue Note Records' Parthenope and keys come from another London jazz up and comer Tom O’Brien. Guitars are Gary Haguenauer in Paris. Everything was either recorded in the studio in Leeds or remotely with live online sessions.

What's shakin' funky people?!  We are back with Volume 204 of the series and we welcome back our good friend and Bay Area Legend, Sean Dexter, to Soul Room Sessions!

Sean Dexter has been a DJ since the mid 80’s and has played in the USA and Canada. BayAreaBeatbox was Founded in 2011 by Sean Dexter on Pure Radio Holland and is currently on Underground Kollektive Radio as a 3 hour show that has featured guests from around the world like Paul Johnson, James Curd, DJ Vivona, David Duriez, Jay Tripwire and many others. In 2020 BayAreaBeatbox Live was launched on Mixcloud doing live broadcasts and in 2021 BayAreaBeatbox live started a monthly residency on the legendary underground station Fantasy FM in the UK. Beatbox Records was Launched in 2016 featuring productions from Sean Dexter. Along with his own label Sean has produced tracks and remixed artists on Selekta, Plusquam, Red Robot, Oh That’s Good Music Villa65, SoulJack Digital, and the famed Deepen Sound in Vancouver Canada. Sean’s music has been remixed by Jay Tripwire, Vernon Douglas, George JJ Flores, Sen-Sei , Jason Merle, Henry Navarroandothers. Hisdjmixeshavebeenfeaturedon podcasts and radio mix shows around the world. BayAreaBeatbox was featured in the legendary Chicago House Music Magazine 5Mag

Our favourite Dutchman, Dave Mayer makes a welcome return to Bobbin Head Music with a new collaboration 'All Your Secrets' with label boss Husky. Groovy deep house music is the vibe here, with Dave & Husky layering warm pads, synth stabs and uplifting melodies to create an energetic dance floor roller.

A deluxe disco flip from Husky pulls back the tempo and adds in some lush disco strings and a bass/piano groove that's sure to get the hips moving.
