Following the results of the 2016 US Presidential Election, who would have guessed, on the 45th anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s seminal 1971 album What’s Going On, that the title song would be more poignant than ever.

Simply nudging the tempo, refashioning the original bass line, adding some melodic pads and piano lines, Caldwell has created a simple update of this classic song, all in the key of C# Minor.

Vince Watson's 'Rendezvous' gets a complete rework on Osunlade's Yoruba Records.

The original 'Rendezvous', released on Carl Craig's Planet E in 2006, is regarded as a modern classic on the Detroit techno label's discography.

'Another Rendezvous' takes things even further, with new elements blending into this completely re-written masterpiece.

Originally intended to be part of Vince's 'VW20 : Introspection', 'Another Rendezvous' was sent to Osunlade after road testing and seemed to be the perfect follow up to Vince's debut on Yoruba, the massively successful 'Eminescence'.

After getting Defected’s attention with his 'Disco Connection' release in 2016, Italian DJ Qubiko blossoms with this production debut for Defected Records. ‘These Days EP’ is a three-track release featuring some quintessential Defected moments. The title track, a collaboration with young fellow Italian K-909, has echoes of Kings Of Tomorrow’s style, with velvety female vocals over a club-focused 4/4. Likewise, ‘Set Me Free’ features gorgeous vocals and tight hi-hat accents giving it that classic house association, while ‘Raw Luv’ goes deeper with a steady disco build and a pacey feel-good vibe. It’s a timeless piece of work from the Defected newcomer.

Ben Woods aka @bosqmusic was born on the coast of Massachusetts, a little Peninsula called Cape Cod, outside of Boston. In 2016 he moved his base to Medellin, Colombia, to immerse himself in the culture and sounds he so much adored.

Bosq’s has a new album coming out called “Love & Resistance” and is a collection of songs that reflect a producer’s continuing emergence by diving deeper into his influences.
