If you've been following me for a while then you already know that I'll play an Afro-Cuban DJ set every now and then. As a matter of fact my most listened to set on YouTube is an Afro-Cuban mix I did some time ago called "El Baile." (With over 2 million plays and counting) That was my very first time playing this amazing genre of House Music and I've been hooked ever since. "Por Aqui" features my brand new remix of "Candela" by the Buena Vista Social Club. There's also music by the legendary Celia Cruz along with a couple of bangers from producer Peppe Citeralla who is one of the "Big Dogs" in this particular genre. Here at Groove Odyssey records the excitement is overflowing as we unleash the first single taken from our very own Bobby & Steve’s forthcoming debut artist album.

Featuring Chicago’s finest Byron Stingily entitled ‘They Can’t Understand It’ this dance floor gem rocks with a deep vocal message that also lifts you with extreme joy.

Byron is considered an original House Music Artist, known for his soaring falsetto voice. As the lead singer of the group Ten City he scored international success with “That’s the Way Love Is” reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts and the U.K.  national top ten charts as well as other territories. Ten City’s first album Foundation is certified Gold and Silver around the world, and is considered the first album to attain international success for House Music. 

Bobby & Steve first met Byron when Ten City performed at their legendary Garage City night back in 1992. They have always admired him as a 
singer and songwriter, so it was an honour to collaborate with him and have him on the label.

With the track already receiving massive support from the likes of Louie Vega and Paul Trouble Anderson, and Louie acknowledging it as a future classic in the making, we believe it’s got all the right ingredients.  

Bobby & Steve’s album will be out in July and features some amazing artists including,
Jean Carne, Leroy Burgess, Stephanie Cooke, Duane Harden, Jon Pierce and Sheree Hicks.

Artist Info: 
Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe has had plenty of time to develop his own sound. Famously, he released his first tracks in 2003 at the tender age of 17 and has spent the last decade fine-tuning a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in house, developing a long-running relationship with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then, he’s amassed an impressive discography of nearly 100 releases, delivering inspired reworks for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound regularly takes on flavours of disco, boogie, Afro, deeper grooves, proto-house, ‘90s garage-house dubs and much more besides.
