Welcome to this new RISE Breathwork session — a short but powerful 12-minute journey designed to help you recharge, reset, and rise to your full potential. Experience how quickly you can change your state of being with the power of music and breath. Perfect for a morning boost, an energizing pause during your day, or a calming unwind in the evening.

Your guide: Joep Mencke — breathwork facilitator, DJ, and music producer — has led sessions across the globe for the past three years. His mission is to make transformation accessible and help you integrate breathwork into your daily life. In this practice, you’ll experience guided breathing patterns, gentle retentions, and moments of stillness, all supported by an original soundtrack composed by Joep. The music blends warm textures, subtle harmonies, and rhythmic layers to carry you deeper into the shift.

What to expect in this session:
• 10-minute guided breathwork for daily integration
• Original music and soundscapes by Joep Mencke
• Two to three short breathing cycles with retentions
• A balance of activation and relaxation
• Accessible to all levels — no prior experience required

Best experienced with headphones

Can be done sitting or lying down in a comfortable, undisturbed space

Breathwork Instructions

This is a connected breath practice — no pause between inhale and exhale.
 • Inhale: Belly & chest expand
 • Exhale: Belly & chest fall
 • Breathing in: Mouth (more powerful) or nose (gentler)
 • Breathing out: Mouth
 • Each cycle includes dynamic breathing followed by two retentions (~45 sec after exhale, then ~45 sec after inhale).
 • You may feel tingling, changes in temperature, or mild muscle tension — these are normal effects of breathwork.
 • If overwhelmed, return to gentle breathing in and out through the nose.
 • Always listen to your body and never force anything.

If you have a history of psychosis or epileptic seizures, this practice is not for you.

If you are currently pregnant, please listen closely to your body. Only participate if it feels right for you — and do not perform or hold any of the breath retentions.

Christian acquired his love of electronic while growing up in the UK. It wasn’t until he moved to New York, however, that he would attend his first underground party and find the sound that would capture him and inspire him to step behind the decks himself. Since then, Christian has become a staple of the underground scene, a party enthusiast, and an avid techno tourist.

After some time as a free agent, Christian’s sophisticated taste in music earned him a residency for Bespoke Musik where he has entranced audiences with thoughtful, layered DJ sets. In 2021 he became a resident of Beachouse in Ibiza, where he provides the soundtrack for sunny days on Playa D’en Bossa. He has also recently joined the All Day I Dream roster, having contributed multiple videos to the All Day I Stream series, as well as being booked to play All Day I Dream events at Space Nightclub in Miami, Cova Santa in Ibiza, and the All Day I Dream festival in California.

His music blends a focus on the low end frequencies with a melodic, sometimes melancholic touch. The end result is just as suited to a nightclub dancefloor as a desert sunset, with enough versatility for everything in between.

Christian now manages the Bespoke Musik record label, as well as helping run the brand with the founder, Rocky Ramniceanu. The second release on the label was his collaborative ep with German All Day I Dream artist Powel, and marks his first foray into the music production field. The two met whilst sharing a lineup in Brooklyn, which marked the start of their musical partnership, as well as his first event as a Bespoke Musik resident.

Some of his notable bookings include Gazgolder and Leveldva in Moscow, Café D’ Anvers in Antwerp, Sisyphos in Berlin, Output and Cityfox in Brooklyn, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, Space and The Electric Pickle in Miami, Beachouse and Cova Santa in Ibiza, and Robot Heart, the 747, Miki Beach and Pink Mammoth at Burning Man.

Her sets pull you into deeper sonic territory, layering instrumentals, vocals, and sounds from around the world. She's graced stages at @houseofyesnyc and The Paradise Club, brought the heat to Zero's City of Gods, and commanded the decks at @mayanwarriorofficial and @elevationnyc . 

What she does transcends genre lines, building moments that connect straight to the soul.

She's also a force in every sense, juggling family, community, and creative life with an energy that radiates the second she takes control. Thrilled to spotlight her on this episode and call her a friend.

Jan aka QuantumGroove found his love of electronic music while growing up in the Netherlands. His time as a child in East Africa catalyzed his passion for African beats. After that, living in Indonesia opened up his musical tastes to the sounds of the East.  When he moved to Denver he would experience his first underground party and find the musical scene that would inspire him to become a DJ himself. Since then, Jan has also produced and curated visuals for music events.

Drawing on his diverse background, Jan blends his passion for Afro, Latin, and Eastern beats with organic, deep, and melodic techno. Under the alias, QuantumGroove, he can play a wide range of music, suitable for peak-time nightclub dance floors, outdoor sunrise sets, and everything in between.  

Some of his notable bookings include Burning Man, Pynk in Vermont, Nonsense Collective - Puerto Escondido, and VIP events at the SXM music festival.
