David Talking For Emma

WORK IN PROGRESS!

This is an action/adventure cue with a big, old-school Hollywood sound. Nothing says 'sci-fi adventure' like a big section of french horns over staccato strings! 

We've got a bit of everything; furious string runs building up to a climax of monstrous brass power, and then the whole thing gently fades to a nice reflective ending. Like going on a bold adventure into outer space, then coming home for a nice cup of tea.

The Neptune Gate (Work In Progress)

A mellow solo piano piece written by Kyle, after filming a documentary with Joel inside a cavernous derelict 1930s cinema. The feel of the track is like the feel of the building itself - dark, melancholy and empty, but with a distant sense of hope that one day it'll be restored and once again filled with the sounds of popcorn and laughter. 

It's not really a sonata in strict musical terms, but it makes for a lovely name!

Silver Screen Sonata (Kyle May)

Well this was a fun one to write! A true transatlantic collaboration, with Joel is in Boston and Kyle back home Liverpool. We worked together online, sharing screens and audio so we could work on the same project in realtime.

The initial sketch was for a straight-up march, but we ended up going in a slightly different direction, with gently flowing string-and-woodwind led sections giving way to a massive brass and timpani attack, like a swarm of angry trombones stomping their way menacingly towards you.
