Within the span of a year, Tallinn-based club night series and creative collective Shelter has managed to rally dozens of electronic musicians from all corners of the world to an unexpected meeting point by the Baltic Sea. By curating club nights that showcase local talents aside some of the brightest minds in electronic music today, Shelter has undeniably played a significant role in revitalizing Tallinn’s club scene.

More importantly, Shelter uses its platform to shed light on some of the worst humanitarian crises currently plaguing our planet. Beyond covering event costs, ticket sales proceeds from Shelter Showcase events have been directed to organizations who provide resources to those in need, including the Ottawa Black Diaspora Coalition in Ukraine and the Rebuilding Alliance in Palestine.

To celebrate 1 year of building bridges between communities and incubating forward-thinking electronic music, Shelter presents Feyrûse: a compilation album featuring 17 tracks by an intercontinental melting pot of musicians, majority of whom have graced the dancefloors of Shelter.

Feyrûse aims to capture increasing unity within the global electronic music community. The musical styles represented on the album are as varied as its diverse cast of artists, ranging from purpose-built hybrid club to serene and blissful melodic rituals.

✢ GIGASET (@giaga-seat) is a Hungarian artist who is one of the creators of Family Fast collective and @111family 🇭🇺 

He keeps noises and annoying sounds as cute pets. He is inspiered by hard kicks and super nice music like Fausto Mercier, Talpah trax or the Weird Flex series by DJ Detweiler. 

∎ "EZMVA" is a brand-new compilation by 111Records, made by members of the current roster of Electronic Music and Media Arts at The University of Pécs. The most recent collection of this kind was released by Dióbél Kiadó in 2020, taking a more holistic approach in presenting 38 works by students and alumni at the time.

∎ While a few contributors of ’EZMVA’ were present on that landmark project, most of us are new here. This 52-minute-long selection, however, sounds like something that has been maturing for a while; you rarely feel like you’re jumping from one artist’s work to another’s while listening to these 14 tracks. Across many genres and lack thereof, the album ends up as a highly coherent body of work – all compositions are part of the same lore because we speak the same language.

Premiere of the first work as a label from A.F.A.B (Asociación Futurista Anti Binaria) (https://soundcloud.com/asc-ftrsta-anti-bnra ), based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A project focused on exciting sounds from local queer talents. This will be a 4-track release called K.S.U.R. (Kimica Sonora Utopica Revolucionaria) and 'RiddiM 420' will be the last track of the project and it will be out on February 26st.

As they say, the work venture depp into sonic subtleties like those found in the more textured and trippy styles of bass music, while also experimenting with more personal and unexpected types of rhythms such as footwork and riddim. All while still maintaining that punk spirit and playfulness that has made them stand out over their careers.
