Coming out of the diverse Bay Area region of Northern California; Vallejo native K.O.B. has arrived on the scene and is destroying anything standing in his path of industry wide domination.

K.O.B., also known as Kobra Abysmal, grew up surrounded by hustlers, classic music and a budding Bay Area Hip Hop scene. His early musical influences came from artists Ice Cube & N.W.A., Mac Dre, The Click, Too Short, L.L. Cool J, 2Pac, Awol Camp, Bad Influenz and The Young D Boyz.

At the young age of 12, K.O.B. recorded his first freestyles over instrumentals onto cassette singles. By 18, he was invited to record with legendary Bay Area Producer, Johnny Z, where he was surrounded by Bay Area superstars like Mac Dre, B-Legit, N2Deep, and Spice 1. Making his debut appearance on the 707 Compilation, Presented by Johnny Z and Young Dru, K.O.B. quickly connected with other Bay Area producers like Crest Side Vallejo based, Steve Dee.

He released his debut solo album, Just What the Game Needed, in 2004; solidifying K.O.B. as a factor in the Bay Area music scene. His ever growing buzz has artists reaching out to him for features; having destroyed stages with the likes of Lee Majors, Young Dru, The Stooie Bros, Jacka, Mac & AK, Matt Blaque, Turf Talk, A-Wax, JayTee, Sean T, Sandman, Indecent and Krypto, making K.O.B. a highly sought after artist for shows. He’s appeared on a number of classic projects, such as, Flame Spitter, The Rompilation 3,and the 707 Compilation Vol. 2; as well as mix tapes with notable DJ’s like Rick Lee, DJ Gio, DJ Rah 2K,and DJ Angus.

This year, K.O.B. teamed up with Vallejo’s #1 artist and Bay Area legend E-40,to release the hot new single, “Get Activated” from his upcoming album Hungry as a Hostage,which is set to release on September 11 th . K.O.B. brings the heat as he showcases his lyrical abilities with features from Bay Area hard hitters B-Legit, Agerman, San Quinn, Messy Marv, Mista Fab, Lee Majors, Krypto and many more.

To date, K.O.B.’s music resume reads like an artist who’s been in music for twice as long; boasting interviews & articles in various major Hip Hop magazines, appearances on BET’s American Gangster, and a featured guest on Xplosive’s Video Show Hour. With a lyrical flow that is grabbing audiences by the throat across the nation, it’s no secret that the music industry is eagerly awaiting The Broadway Bully’s next move.

I find that in creating music, I'm able to achieve a sense of freedom that knows no bounds. It allows me to channel memories and emotions into sound, and provide any eager ear a glimpse into my journey towards the person I am today. Although I enjoy a wide range of different genres, melodic / progressive house has to be one of my favorite. A blend of both melodic sounds and hard thump are the foundation for the music I produce.
