May 13, 2014 - British rock group Kill It Kid have released "I'll Be The First." This is the first song from the band's forthcoming album, 'You Owe Nothing'. Kill It Kid was formed back in 2008 when guitarist and vocalist Chris Turpin joined forces with drummer Marc Jones and co-vocalist/pianist Stephanie Ward. They drew inspiration from American blues, both in style and in name, taking "Kill It Kid" from a Blind Willie McTell tune. The band spent the next four years working intensely, touring and growing a following in the U.K., which led them to Sire/WBR. 
 
Their music has since spread worldwide, with their song "Run" featuring prominently in a global Samsung TV commercial. A full-length record will be out later this year, and is a crossroads between unadulterated blues catharsis, tight rock 'n' roll song writing, pensive folks musings and distorted grunge attitude. 
 
Kill It Kid will be joining fellow Blues revivalist Gary Clark, Jr. on his European tour in Germany. For a full list of upcoming Kill It Kid tour dates, see below.

Lease of Life is the follow up to Errors’ critically acclaimed 2012 album Have Some Faith In Magic. Formulated on the Hebridean Isle Of Jura - the location where George Orwell wrote Nineteen Eighty-Four and the place where The KLF are rumoured to have burned a million pounds - it’s a bold work borne by the confidence and ambition of a band with a desire to combine the exploration of fresh soundworlds combined with their most accessible, immediate songwriting yet. Lease of Life is also the band’s most cohesive album statement to date: a start-to-finish experience that’s bound by recurring constituents and accomplished craft.

“belong to the moon”, Nuaia's second album on the Swedish label, BoogiePost Recordings, is a continuation of the trio's voyages in the sonic landscapes between pop, free improv and experimental music.

The album is a collection of undressed indie ballads, with distant cinematic echoes from Blade Runner and Ennio Morricone. Occasionally, a wave of Indonesian gamelan and ambiences à la Brian Eno appears, but regardless of influences, Nuaia is holding on to the the musical and lyrical core. Not a word too much. Rather repetition than unnecessary variation. In a universe where song, drums and acoustic instruments meets electronic soundscapes, personal stories are born, presented with an unusual intensity and presence.

The Swedish-Danish group Nuaia was formed in 2007, and released their debut album “nuaia” in 2009.

With a melodic, anthemic chant “We Will Go On” at the heart of this rock song, the track’s aspirational theme sets out to encourage, empower and inspire the ability for any individual or team to achieve great things, setting about their challenge to win! Originally written with an emphasis to rally and champion both sports players and fans alike, any stadium would resound to these motivational words from Scottish band Estrella.

This is the title track from Estrella's second album We Will Go On which is due for release on June 22.

NEW TOWN POP GROUP TACKLES DISAPPOINTING HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE

Speedvark, the Hemel Hempstead based duo, took a holiday recently and were underwhelmed.

Promises of spacious accommodation and luxury facilities made in the glossy brochure were not kept; levels of hygiene on site were below par and the service was disappointing.

At best, Speedvark asserted (to each other) that the travel agent through which the holiday was booked was economic with the truth; at worst it was downright misleading.

One upside (possibly) is ‘Holiday Song’, the band’s new single, which was inspired by the experience.

Lead bugle player, backing vocalist and front man Ben Raudnitz was held at gun point and asked for his thoughts on this latest track: “Holiday Song is a rallying cry for a nation of disappointed holiday makers too weak to do anything about it. It’s an anthem for those of us who are too mild and too terrified to do anything about anything.” He stammered before being shot.

Like many law abiding commuters, the members of Speedvark spent much of their vacation noting the various faults and minor disappointments rather than making the most of their time abroad.  And, like most of their middle income compatriots, the band spent much of its time pontificating about legal recourse, official complaint channels, compensation and possibly even an email to Radio 4’s Money Box with Paul Lewis

Quiet as a Mouse are an indie/alternative band formed by singer/songwriter Alex Moran in 2012.

The group’s live reputation has quickly grown as QAAM have supported Hinds (Deers), The Orwells, Palma Violets, The Big Moon, The Orielles, Coasts and The Crookes. Their first batch of London shows were with Club Fandango at Bull & Gate & Buffalo Bar as well as headlining Birthdays and The Old Blue Last.

These outstanding performances have earned them “Gig of the Day” from Ruth Kilpatrick at Amazing Radio, airplay support from Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music), Vic Galloway (BBC Radio Scotland), Chris Martin, Charlie Ashcroft and Jim Gellaty at Amazing Radio.

On the back of the free download track ‘An Accident Waiting To Happen (Awoo Woo Woo)’ the band released their debut single ‘Home Is The Hardest Place To Find’ in August 2013.

Quiet as a Mouse released their next single ‘Casketcase’ in February 2014. ‘Casketcase’ like ‘Home Is The Hardest Place To Find’ was produced by Marcus Mackay (Frightened Rabbit & Snow Patrol) and mastered by Chris Potter (Arctic Monkeys).

In August 2014 QAAM released their debut EP ‘British Flag’ which was engineered and mixed by Liam Watson (The White Stripes ‘Elephant’) at Toerag Studios (Metronomy, Tame Impala & The Wytches) in London and mastered by Noel Summerville (The Clash & Aphex Twin).

The band released their 2nd EP ‘Memorybox’ in April 2015, which coincided with launch shows in Edinburgh, Glasgow & London. 

Quiet as a Mouse released their debut album 'Is It Funny When It Hurts?' (Part funded by Creative Scotland and produced by Kris Pohl (Idlewild) at Post Electric Studio) in 2018.

Alex returned to Brisbane, Australia in 2019 and released his latest QAAM release 'Passport' a 6 track mini album in 2022. A 2nd full length Quiet as a Mouse album is completed and to be release in late 2025/early 2026.
