Brooklyn Heat (2010) is a collection of singles recorded by artists in the summer of 2010. Each artist recorded one single in one day at Monsterland Recording Studio in Brooklyn New York. The project was curated, engineered and mixed by Shane O’Connor at Monsterland Recording Studio in Brooklyn New York. All studio time was generously donated by Bones Howell, owner of Monsterland Recording Studio. 

The artists were chosen without a specific theme in mind, but rather a focus on music that was moving people. Shane picked bands that had exciting live shows, were willing to promote themselves in interesting ways, and were open to collaboration with other artists. For example, the singles recorded by Gunfight and Quiet Loudly were recorded in two back to back studio dates where they shared resources and players. The result of this focus was a song collection that is fast, distorted, raw and energetic. This is an embodiment of the way that Brooklyn sounded like in the summer of 2010. 

Shane O'Connor is a rock recording engineer and producer. Shane has worked with artists such as Tab The Band, Madi Diaz, The Blue Pages, and Blackbutton. Residing in New York City (as well as Boston), Shane O'Connor is known for recording bands in a live-in-studio format, with an emphasis on organic and emotional performances. Shane currently works out of Skyline Recording Studio in Manhattan, Rough Magic Recording Studio in Brooklyn New York as well as Q Division in Boston Massachusetts. 

Shane's career in music production started in a punk rock fashion, recording bands in basements and attic spaces with whatever equipment was available. Soon, he was working as an assistant at Q Division Recording Studio in Somerville Ma. Here Shane learned from seasoned veterans about recording techniques of decades past. This background, in combination with a degree in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College Of Music put Shane in a unique niche as a recording engineer and producer.
