“There definitely are cinematic underpinnings to most of my compositions,” Nichols concedes, “I wanted to create a soundscape that reflected specific events throughout my life.” The result: an album of 17 moving and contemplative suites, all designed to tell the artist’s story in a non-linear recollection of experiences had, vignettes of moments captured, and a lifetime of challenges bested.

I’m excited to share Reflections, a collection of six piano (+ three variations) pieces that I originally composed for an upcoming film, set to be released next spring. These pieces are personal and flowing, each one capturing moments of introspection and emotion that emerged through the scoring process.

On a few tracks, I had the pleasure of collaborating with cellist Eurico Ferreira Mathias, whose playing adds a beautiful, soulful depth to the music. His cello brings an extra layer of feeling that really complements the piano and enhances the mood.

Reflections is a quiet, heartfelt project that I hope will give listeners a space to pause and reflect. In these fast-paced and challenging times, I hope this album offers a moment of calm that we all deeply need. Thank you for listening.
