Eyjafjöll is a French producer. He has run an indie electronic music live performance for about 5 years now with Techno, House, Acid influences, but also Cold Wave and New Wave. Dark, mystic, dancing, sometimes weirdo with a scenography close to a black mess, Eyjafjöll’s music is letting room for meditation, dreams, and psychedelic trips.

He’s been signed on labels such as Nein and KdB and released several EPs on his own label, Nazca Lines Records. Nein released his latest EP, called “Three”: Two tracks, one shining with a hippy style (“Three”, included in this mixtape) and the other darky voodoo cursed track, with two beautiful remixes by From Beyond and Celestino (SXDNS curator).

As a DJ, he likes to explore techno and house music but always with indie rock, world music, industrial or strange ambience touches. Dark or colourful, he loves contrasts and making the people dance!

Two of the Swedish underground techno scene's brightest luminaries team up for the third instalment of their promising label When Disco Goes Wrong. Since Högt I Tak (SXDNS179) and Mindbender decided to join forces and start sewing together, Sweden has been definitely put on the map of the “new” Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene. Their plethora of personal influences gave birth to an interesting concoction of sonorities, resulting in solid originals and collaborations which have been well-received by artists and people in general. 

For their forthcoming release, the single “Mental Raver”, after being featured in three different outfits (“Original Remake”, “Break The Acid Mix” and “Acid Is Cool Mix”), receives a gala attire designed by London’s own machine pagan and consumerism techno maestro MAN2.0 (SXDNS081), who totally remakes the track into absolute hedonism joy. The rusty old machines screeching and squelching until an otherworldly beautiful breakdown sends Högt I Tak and Mindbender’s Mental Raver straight into space. An insightful interpretation that increased the already high quality of the release.

The next guest taking control of the Counterterraism ship is Mexican dj/producer; Jorge Gómez AKA CHINOSYNTH. CHINOSYNTH has released some fantastic tracks on a multitude of labels including Controlla and Maleante records. 

Jorge's style very much falls into the dark disco/downtempo chug sound so his mix will be a fantastic addition to our channel and we're sure you'll agree. As per, if you haven't heard of CHINOSYNTH please go and check out some of his material, we know you'll love it! Happy Thursday everyone!

Counterterraism Guest Mix 17: CHINOSYNTH

Cantor began to produce and to live-performing Techno in the early '90s after he naturally converted from punk and indie, inspired by Industrial and Detroit productions. His music encompasses sounds coming from Italo Disco, Detroit Techno, Punk and New Wave. Passionate about vinyl editions, he also actively re-issues music from other labels. Today he is based in San Jose, California, where he operates in the software industry and runs his label, Underground Pacific. Cantor work has been released on influential labels such as Trafico Music, Correspondant, Motordiscs, Nothing Is Real, Emerald & Doreen and, of course, Underground Pacific.
