Adrián Peña Sánchez, recognised as Calystarr, emerges from the shadows of Chiclana de la Frontera, a sonic alchemist weaving beats like a clandestine symphony. A maestro of the electronic realm, his artistry resonates in the ebb and flow, a chiaroscuro of dynamism, depth, elegance, and an enigmatic freshness that dances between night and day.

Within the psychedelic tapestry he weaves, harmonious atmospheres pulsate, revealing a musical landscape draped in retrospective hues. Calystarr's sounds are a journey through time, a mastery of nuance and resources that evoke a suspenseful nostalgia. A sonic researcher, he delves into Nudisco, Italo, Indie Dance, Acid, and the mysterious allure of Dark Disco.

This episode of the musical journey through ancient life is about a fascinating group of organisms that seem to defy the very limits of life itself: the Archaea. These early inhabitants of our planet emerged around 3.8 billion years ago, at a time when Earth was a vastly different place, marked by extreme environments that would challenge the survival of any modern organism.

These single-celled organisms, much like their bacterial counterparts, are prokaryotic – lacking a nucleus and complex organelles. However, archaea possess unique molecular signatures that distinguish them as a separate domain of life.

Their ability to thrive in extreme environments hints at the conditions surrounding early Earth. Archaea are found in the scorching depths of hydrothermal vents, the salty expanses of hypersaline lakes, and the frigid polar regions. They were among the first pioneers to weather environmental extremes, paving the way for the remarkable diversification of life on Earth.

Intriguingly, archaea aren't just survivors of harsh external environments – they reside within us. Our guts harbor a specific strain called Methanobrevibacter smithii, a methanogen that aids in digestion and may even play a role in the gut-brain connection.

As we continue to explore the origins of life, the archaea stand as a powerful symbol of life’s persistence, reminding us that from the smallest, simplest forms can come the greatest diversities. Their legacy is not just in their survival, but in the way they paved the path for all life that followed, shaping the world in ways that are still being discovered today.

Luckily I had the chance to play a spontaneous set in one of my favourite floors in Dresden, the (in)famous tent floor of Sektor Evolution.

The event set a statement against any warlike acts and actual conflicts worldwide by donating the income to the 'International Rescue Committee' (https:// rescue.org), which is supporting people in war situations, crisis aid and fight for more justice.
