Aho Ssan is the artist name of Paris based Niamké Désiré. After studying graphic design and cinema, he began to com-pose electronic music and create his own digital instruments. Shortly thereafter he went on to win the Foundation France television prize for his soundtrack to the film of Ingha Mago in 2015 and has worked on several projects related to IRCAM/GRM in France. His debut LP «Simulacrum» was released on the 7th of February 2020 via Subtext Recordings.Based on the concept of Jean Baudrillard, it navigates through society’s presentation of inclusivity and equality against my own experience of growing up black in France.

The events that shake Palestine and Israel are resulting in an ever-tighter spiral of violence and desperation. They are a horrific wake-up call that brutally brings the precarious situation on our planet to the fore. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinian civilians are intolerable. On top of that, the military actions threaten the lives of the remaining hostages in the Gaza-Strip, and even more innocent people in Gaza.

Dive into the dark, raw, and unrelenting world of Hajj with the "Repulsive Reflections Thru This Fucking Phone Remixes" EP, a complex exploration of the sinister and the introspective. This release on Bad Tips offers a striking contrast between two distinct sonic territories, encapsulating both the chaotic energy of the club and the deeper, spiritual realms of late-night introspection.

The EP opens with four explosive remixes of "Reflections on Repulsiveness," a track originally featured on Bad Tips' "Good Vibes Vol. 1." Hajj's own VIP version amplifies the hardcore and metal elements, transforming the track into a ferocious, head-banging anthem that descends into the abyss. King Doudou then takes us to the twisted streets of São Paulo, infusing the remix with nervy, repulsive funk, while Ronce delivers a corrosive, gritty interpretation that oozes with raw intensity. The duo Vina Konda & Mortal Voracity cap off the first half with a relentless mix, blending metal, bass, and Jersey influences into an indigestible yet euphoric concoction.

The second half of the EP delves into a more introspective space with four remixes of "I Tried To Tell Ya Something Thru This Fucking Phone," originally released on BFDM in 2020. Hajj's VIP reimagines the track with a darker, more nocturnal atmosphere, shifting from the original’s early morning vibes to a late-night intensity. Ukrainian producer Comechelet follows with a remix that balances progressive, militaristic rhythms with an organic, dark shimmer. Gargantuan Collapse (Gargantuan Grief x Modern Collapse) offers a raw, nihilistic take, imbued with a bleak romanticism. Toma Kami then brings the EP to a close with an abrasive yet spiritual rendition, channeling a primal sense of urgency.

This EP doesn’t shy away from experimentation, embodying the boundary-pushing ethos of Bad Tips. Though the release is rooted in a somber, pessimistic outlook, it resonates with the audacious spirit that defines the label. Available digitally and on CD via Bandcamp, this release will also be accompanied by a limited-edition T-shirt featuring artwork by tattoo artist Pepittta. To mark the occasion, a launch event will be held at Station Gare des Mines in Paris on September 21st, featuring performances from Hajj, Vina Konda & Mortal Voracity, Gargantuan Collapse (live), Ronce, Toma Kami, and label head gboi.

Dav is a musician, photographer and arts worker based in Eora. Dav is one third of String Club: a musical project that began in 2022 on the foundation of improvisational friendship - where loving meals and laughter fuel sonic iterations that flutter between ambient, post rock, alternative and folktronic registers. String Club has performed for Prion Audio x Suite7a, Fatal Crush as well as at the Sydney/Eora mainstay - Lazy Thinking. As a solo DJ / host they are dedicated to mapping local and historic (often both) musical-landmarks while traversing the emerging landscape of the electronic left-field.

Debut full length from London based 3 piece originally hailing from New Zealand (Matthew Hyland), Germany (Anja Büchele) and Romania (Dennis Debitsev) Precious Waste In Our Wake (full title written nowhere: "The Fucking Terrible Receding Shapes, We Shed Precious Waste In Our Wake") is an endlessly beautiful, dense and chaotic crawl through so many forms it can be difficult to ascertain what is actually at play. Ostensibly a ‘rock’ band carved from the same plank as previous outfits Philosopie Queen, The Mean Streaks, etc Triple Negative have shaken a somewhat complacent London with their wildly original blend of chaos and beauty rolling around a maelstrom of politics, spite and humour. Bloodclaat Orange, Fatna Bent Lhoucine, The Associates, Aby Ngana Diop, Royal Trux, Brigitte Fontaine/Areski and Babyfather are all somehow wished into the scenario, either suggestively, explicitly quoted or manifesting as some malformed degree of inspiration. 

Precious Waste features bloody-minded Schlagzeugspiel by Stephen Robinson (Aufgehoben) & Rohan P. Thomas (The Mean Streaks, Sigma Editions) + guest verses by Maria Callas/P.-P. Pasolini, Marlene Dietrich & actually existing urban foxes of Northeast & South London.  Also contains "Destroyer", the 1st song written by Cameron Bain for The Mean Streaks (2000. complete lyric sheet: Destroyer!), followed immediately by Dr Moreau-style fusion of Herman Melville & Peter Perrett in glass-all-void Immigrant Song. Also bass sound of the miraculous Stylophone Beatbox, plus Casio MT 45 psychick dancehall and 3 pairs of strings, not 4, on the bouzouki. 
Following on from the quietly released TOWERS, OPEN, FIRE/Looking For Business 7″ on Penultimate Press towards the end of 2018, Precious Waste In Our Wake is a Malediction Forbidding Mourning, a portfolio of old pathologies folded into a sleek new nervous wreck. Precious Waste In Our Wake is a hulking ride of audacious rhythmic passages swaying alongside the meanest of melodies suddenly swept over by flights most fragile.  We think these are ‘songs’, packaged in a high gloss sleeve with insert and precious zero by way of peers.
