bardzo dobry set. trafiłem przypadkiem przez wątek na forum break.fm (ech.. wspomnienie po dawnym dobrym dnb.pl). ale do rzeczy: dobrze się rozwija, jest odpowiednio dubowa temperatura, no i quantec, a więc musi być dobrze. w sam raz na jesienne wieczory.

This weeks 10TRAX is by Yoshiki Tsuchiya aka Miruga. Born and raised in Japan, he has released on great labels such as Ethreal Sound, Rough House Rosie or Rawthenticity France. 

His own productions showcase sounds tied to Hous and Dub, as he puts it, “I am a track maker & DJ of House Music”. However, his work not limited to that, he goes further; as you can appreciate from his discography and mixes, he has an emotional and melodic touch that makes us travel to dreamlike place where nature and city merge in a near perfect harmony. 

Contrary to what this introduction might suggest, this weeks selection consists of 10 Jazz songs, which we will let the author explain in his own words: “at the start of my DJ career I span Jazz records at lounge space... So this 10TRAX is just a showcase of my most favorite jazz music. Hope you enjoy this relaxed midnight jazzy atmosphere. These Jazz vinyls are records of non-violence that fight for peace, equality and unity… I really respect all these spiritual expression which we need every time. Peace & Love, Miruga”

10TRAX #045 : Miruga

The next Modern Hypnosis sees the first official vinyl release from Another Channel. The young German producer Jonas Schachners (Another Channel) has been at the fore front of the new wave of ‘Dub Techno’ that has been lurking in the underground over the last few years. His dubbed out analog sound has left some accrediting his productions as ‘picking up where Rhythm & Sound left off’.
His debut 12” gives us two very unique tracks. The A side ‘Lord 35’ is an energetic synth driven tune which sitting at 135bpm, in a two-step style is made for the dance.
The B side ‘Corruption’ sees an international connection with the original composition created in Germany by Another Channel, then the overdubbing of vocals supplied by Ethiopian vocalist Enushu Taye (The Black Jesus Experience) in her native Amharic, recorded and mixed by Mystik in his Melbourne studio. The warm analog stabs and punchy bassline accompanied with Enushu Taye’s haunting vocals makes for a beautiful piece of music.

International Tribe is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian.This week’s International Tribe mix comes from Ishmael Ensemble. 

With a sound that is deeply ingrained in jazz, Ishmael Ensemble combines the worldly timbres of brass, beats and a swirling blizzard of electronics, to create mesmerising and atmospheric soundscapes.

Multi-instrumentalist & producer Pete Cunningham a.k.a. Ishmael is the brainchild behind the project and the collective have quickly come to the light of influential tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs and just about everyone else.

For his International Tribe selection, Pete Cunningham takes inspiration from his family. On the sleeve of Severn Songs 3, there's a dedication to Sam & Gordon. The latter was Pete Cunningham's Grandfather, who died in 2017 aged 94. 

During the Christmas period, Pete visited his Grandfather's old home and dug into his vast and varied record collection, the outcome, an hour-long journey through sacred Indian ragas, early spiritual jazz and South African funk.
