Episode 504 in The Ghost Of's words:
I've created a mix of music that give me goosebumps, makes my spine tingle and that give me all the feelings. There's some more obvious ones and some forgotten gems. Much of these tunes hold a real importance to me.
They are mostly older tracks but there's a forthcoming tune No Nation which is proper swoony with a breakdown that makes me want to cry. 
I had to include Photeks 'Book Of Changes ' (which is the best tune ever made.) and a super old one by Double O that's about to get a re-release which is so beautiful and gets me right in the heart.

Tell us about Nothin To Do Soundsystem and future events you have planned:

Nothin' To Do is a Soundsystem and club night based in Southampton, England. 
It was started by Dj Hannin (who also runs the amazing queer femme night Bitch Don't Be Mad') and myself. Our goal is to build community, make a space for DJs who may not usually get spots at bigger events, and to ultimately put on a great party that's for friends of friends of friends. It's a proper grassroots underground thing, the venue we currently use is in a secret location (inside an old Abattoir in a railway arch). It's bring your own drinks and fits about 100 people in it. We work with local artists who provide the visuals too. The Soundsystem is also available to hire for others in the area who have a similar ethos to ourselves. 
We play jungle but our music policy is broad. Our next event is on the 30th September and is going to be an Acid House and Techno night. 
We are then back in the same venue on the 14th October for a 'History Of Breakbeats' extravaganza where we'll be teaming up again with The Sounds Crazy Collective . We'll also have an early open decks session for those who want to practice playing out on the system.

2. Since you're a great artist, tell us about your favorite piece that you had difficulty selling and why?

Selling art is definitely an emotional process for me. Everytime I finish something I think that I'm not going to be able put it up for sale on my website and that I need to keep it forever. I work in a purely handcut analogue way making one off colleges and I become quite attached. I think as well as being personal to me I also ultimately won't be able to make the same piece again. Over next few days I have to push myself to let go of them, which is obviously much more healthy approach. I have similar feelings to the commissioned pieces for the album artwork I also do. Once they've gone though, I get an amazing feeling knowing that people have my work up on their walls and are getting enjoyment from them.

3. What does Salvador Dali eat for breakfast?

This time, taking it back to one of the most bountiful years for jungle - 1994 - and one of the best producers in the genre - Dillinja - with his label Logic Productions.  This time, there are only 3 releases on the label, although there is a 4th track licenced from Logic Productions that appeared on Drum & Bass Selection, ‘Baby Your’ that unfortunately never got a standalone release.  

My attention for this label started off when I heard a (now infamous) DJ set by Randall at AWOL in May 1994 https://youtu.be/A2bckbM0SLA?si=gYNrl3Mhhzq5QVZe.  That was still in the days when I was hearing most new music from mixtapes or recordings from raves and one of our friends, who lived near London, had a copy of this Randall and MC GQ set.  We listened to it over and over again and in particular, I was taken by one mellower track, that had a “Deep, deep, love” female vocal sample in it.  When we were collecting records back then, there was no internet, if you weren’t near a big city - there was no pirate radio; and while there were DJ magazines, they didn’t really tell you where to go and when, in order to find what you wanted - and they certainly didn’t come with audio clips; so really, it was down to being in the right record shop at the right time and selecting records out of the racks to listen to.  I was in Replay Records in Bath, at some point in 1994 (wish I could remember exactly when) and I pulled out a load of stuff to listen to; imagine my excitement when one of them was Dillinja - Deep Love and straight away I knew it was the same track off the Randall mix tape.  I have played this record so many times in the last nearly 30 years and it never gets old.  I picked up the 3rd release later in 1994, also from Replay in Bath and the 2nd release from W Sounds in Warminster from a 2nd hand collection a couple of years later. 

These are all sophisticated jungle drum & bass tracks, they sounded very advanced for the time and definitely some of Dillinja’s finest work. I love how they are not all tear out tunes, but a mixture of styles. I had a couple of goes at this mini-mix, as I soon realised how tricky it was getting the different keys to work together in the mix and blend; but I think I got there in the end! Hope you enjoy…
