Helmed by Stanza (core crew of True Tiger), Stripes has proved itself a strong force in London's underground circuit for the last three years. There's a lot he has to thank the cast of artists he's pulled in from around the UK for this, in producing such a compelling sound for the imprint. The formative releases came from Stanza's inner circle calling on the likes of Chimpo, True Tiger and Kinzy to contribute the label's formative releases before widening his scope of talent and reaching out to Bristol based duo Monkey Wrench. The pair hooked up while studying in Bristol and have been growing a healthy rep of their own in recent years for tactfully blending elements from the spheres of bass, garage and house. 

With their Farringdon debut slated for our joint venture with Red Bull Studios London next Friday (July 1st) the duo also got together to put together a promo mix to properly demonstrate their sound and features tracks from themselves Near, Caski, Sly-One, Hypho, Dread MC and many more. We should also add their date with us also neatly ties in with their next EP release No Signals which drops on the same day and we wholly recommend you take some time out to check, right after you've got through this mix.

Known amongst her fans and friends as the 'First Lady of Drum & Bass' DJ Storm has been D'n'B royalty since the very beginning, making her name in the days of pirate radio where local heroes could be created overnight. She was chucked head first into the scene by her best friend Kemistry, who started dating a graffitti artist called Goldie - the three of them would later go on to set up Metalheadz; a label which defined and continues to define the the D'n'B scene. To this day Storm still reps under the famous skull banner.

With a passion towards all things old skool for the next entry into our Field Maneuvers mix series DJ Storm guides us through her inspirations from the inner-city; a trip through the history of D'n'B and a glimpse of what to expect from her vinyl-only set in September. Most of FM crew cut our raving teeth on D'n'B so we are honoured to welcome Storm to Field Maneuvers.

Then I got even luckier and was able to record the mix at one of my favourite producers and dearest friend's place; the mighty Digital. 'Frameworks'

"I've been thinking a lot lately about the journey myself and some peers have been on, travelling around the Earth as DJ's and what I feel we have contributed in some small way to the world of beats/bass/dnb etc.. It's been such an amazing ride so far, but speaking for myself, I think somehow some years ago I got a little lost amongst the 'career' aspect, and in a way let the external forces that come with a relative degree of success in a sense dictate some of my relationship with myself as an artist. Over the past year or  so, i've been enjoying getting back to basics, and re-focusing on the real essence of what it is I set out to do in music, having for-filled my 'teenage dreams' of working within the dnb community, I have in a sense been enjoying to returning to being a fan 1st, and with my own creativity, exploring new avenues, which will become more evident in 2019 via my own releases but also the output of Cosmic Bridge (thinking as it's curator). 

This mix is something of a diagram of the landscape of current music that is important to me both as a DJ and artist, but also a heads up to anyone looking for inspiration, I feel there are nuggets of inspiration in here for potential futures that might be autonomous from any given scene. It is also a showcase of what is to come in 2019 from both myself and the label, in a way a set of 'frameworks' for inspiring and forward thinking producers." - Om Unit
