With his "Emotional Engineering" EP, Parco Palaz aka Nicola-Miloš Mišić delivers a brilliant opening for the new digital catalog of SNC Recs.
The Basel-based producer and DJ with a background in composition and sound design for film has already demonstrated his skills with his first EPs "Motorsport" (2018) and "Surface" (2020) on Akoya Circle, and most recently released his first album with the delightfully descriptive title "Lightning Struck a Tree" on Turbo Life Tapes.
With "Emotional Engineering" on SNC he now raises the bar again in terms of sonic diversity and takes his listeners on a carefully composed musical trip beneath the surface, right into the spheres of the subconscious, with the titling of the individual tracks being entirely in the spirit of biochemistry. Electrifying breakbeats merge here with complex melodies to create a powerful, psychoactive sound experience. While the first two tracks with their slightly dreamy atmosphere offer a dynamic as well as harmonious introduction, the sonic spectrum of the EP is subsequently fanned out even further.
With his first release on SNC records, Parco Palaz has created a multi-layered psychogram of an ambitious composer that makes you want to listen to it over and over again.

One of the early R&S Records releases, and a landmark release that saw the Belgian label begin a long association with the UK techno pioneer, Dave Angel’s ‘1st Voyage’ EP is released digitally for the first time.  Remastered from the original DAT tapes, Angel’s 1991 release still cuts a prodigious sound.

As legend has it, whilst ‘shopping’ tracks to labels, Dave Angel was tipped off by friend (and later boss of the legendary V Recordings drum & bass imprint) Bryan Gee, who sent him in the direction on Renaat Vandepapeliere and his fledgling R&S record label.  From this burgeoning relationship, Angel was introduced to the Antwerp based producer C.J. Bolland, who was already one of the first record producers to be signed to R&S, and out of this meeting the ‘1st Voyage’ EP took shape. With Bolland on programming duties, as well as co-producing two tracks, the collaboration served up what can now be considered as some of the finest early techno productions from Europe, and tracks that enjoyed heavy rotation at clubs and raves globally.  Angel and Bolland both went on to enjoy (and continue to enjoy) illustrious careers in electronic music, with enviable music catalogues behind them!

Seen as a somewhat folklore hero in our local scene, DJ Lifegoals has from an early stage raised eyebrows with his productions that can be seen as equal parts of Drexcyia and early Aphex Twin mixed with a hint or nordic noir. 

With releases on local favorites such as EABE, as well as the recently (critically  acclaimed) released EP Planet Terminated on Post Sonics, his knack to wander around genres makes it imminent quite early why he is seen in such high regard. 

For this 49min power mix he verses in sounds not really common to our other mixes, however… it does pack a punch in the dusty October fall night.
