Wayward follow up their debut LP with a rugged four track ode to London clubbing.

The North London duo use spoken word over hard edged club-ready tracks that reach heights of 150bpm. Informed by influences like Addison Groove, Pangaea & Hessle Audio, Machine Drum, and Overmono.

“If our debut album showcased the more reflective side of our yearning for clubs, and a softer side of the lockdown experience, this EP is the anger, frustration and urgency coming out. Stuck indoors again just wanting to bang it out in a club with the intention of making something completely focused on the dance floor” - Wayward.

The result here is the perfect set of tools for any DJs arsenal to provide serious dance floor moments from 130 - 160/170bpm, the frustration channelled perfectly into the music to create raw club sounds. Written during perhaps the toughest lockdown endured when those hard winter months had darkness fill our mornings and early evenings, and making music that evoked feelings and memories of the club provided Wayward some solace. Title track ‘Sapphire Eyes’ was designed as a last tune of the night, ‘The Cause’, an immersive track that envelops you in sound, and a homage to the North London venue near to where they live. ‘Camden Road’ displays chopped up piano licks, spoken word, before getting rowdy and flipping on its head, and ‘Run Out Of Love’ with that rolling Reese bass, jump up DnB drum influence and U.K. drill vocal.

The 5th Redstone Press release comes from Glasgow based LWS, who is at the stepping off point of a soon-to-be prolific production career that has already drawn early support from the likes of Ben UFO, Elena Colombi and Surgeon. This is definitely a producer to keep two ears and eyes on.

The opener “Aerosol” showcases LWS’ flair for space, bass and catchy hooks with this stripped back percussive workout progressively morphing into a low end sound-system killer. The A2 “Spoker” is a far more chaotic and energetic affair, highlighting further LWS’ incredible detail for intricate, pulsating drum work, chopped vocal cuts and stretched out synths which draw you straight to the speaker. The B side contains two slower-paced and wonkier offerings. The groove-ridden and stumbling "Chug Sequence” inexorably works its way into your mind via a mash of percussive hits, foreboding vocal whispers and rolling bass. Closing out the release is the slow burning “Rev Up”, LWS reverts to booming drums and stop/start beatwork that culminates in a rising, euphoric cacophony.

Next up for JUDDER series of singles and EPs — a "FOMO SAPIENS" EP by @Intersecta, a project by Alexey Kalyan that explores various directions in electronic music. His very first release is the result of his long-term passion for underground sound which serves as the debut statement of his long musical journey. Expect five clever cuts of diverse grooves where breakbeat meets electro with a garage tip and blends together in a genre-melting potion. Two slow-paced uncompromising body-movers full of shuffling rhythms, dystopian riffs and ever-enveloping bass intertwine carefully with spacious thought-provoking ethereal soundscapes and Bukem-ish synths lines built around rapid famous old-school breaks.

Reminiscence EP is the opening vinyl release on Earful of Wax from a massively exciting production duo, @heritage_ds (Movement & Tribalist).  

Something of an emerging year for the versatile pair, 2020 saw what is one of the club tracks of the year in The Revelation via Scuffed Recordings. Club support from Oneman, Anz, Peach and Jossy Mistu came before lockdown hit and these guys got to work in the studio. Overdue vinyl features have since come via Plastik People (alongside a legendary DJ Deller classic), Ruffset Records and a Scuffed vinyl sampler which saw The Revelation deservedly pressed to wax. 

Reminiscence EP is their first to reach 12". A five tracker, sides split between original Heritage tracks and debut solo material.

'Sequoia Night' opens things up, a half-step riddim that combines weighty bassline with breaks and signature Heritage, gritty euphoria. 

'Heads Down' is a 130 ode to the noughties teenager grime instrumental. Raw vocal samples plucked out from the early cyphers complement the unique icey flow which nestles loosely amongst the less genre defining UK sound of now. 

The B-Side delivers three. The first two from Brighton based Patterns resident, @movementsoundz. Box Fresh is straight from the pre-dubstep, dark garage era, now starting to creep back through following a summer of high quality classic sounding Garage. Dare we say Horsepower-esque!

'Concrete Flip' follows in similar fashion, this time crunchy hats and piercing snares provide layers over the wobbley lows. The Burial like vocal catches the ear at every instance; RnB samples done best. 

'The Cascade' is a debut track from @Tribalistbeats. The London half of the two showcases his solo pedegree with an electro, breaks, 4/4 hybrid. The opening 2/3's build up in classic breaks fashion before an all out 4:4 tear up. Another one right at home +10% bpm.

Due for release at the end of November.
