Ruben Bacher's Taos Hum is a 40 minute album of wraithlike drones and psychoacoustic experiments. Auditory phenomena, such as The Hum (a persistent humming noise heard by a small percentage of people in places all around the globe) or binaural beats, have spawned explaination attempts beyond scientific proof. Some are said to cause negative effects on health and wellbeing, others are supposed to stimulate the brain in positive ways and are used for meditation rituals. Ruben Bacher reduces such phenomena to their physical core and enables the listener to absorb these by all means hypnotic drones and noises without bias.

With the first release in ten years on Dubsquare Records, The Navigators EP
by IZC builds on the signature sound of the label – an eccentric blend of
bass music, broken techno and digital dub. Thereby, the EP serves as basis
for future developments in 2026 and beyond.
The Navigators is built around a lead sound bustling about bells and hats.
When the horns fall silent, the syncopated bassline leaves the dance floor
swooned, catapulting the crowd straight back to Brixton Mass in 2006. Next
up, 5:20 am is a re-take on a rare 7-inch released in 2012 on the infamous
Offseason imprint. Now leaning towards 2-Step rather than Dub, the effects
are moved to the background, lending more prominence to the gritty and
bass-heavy groove. Last but not least, Children Of Compost stumble across
the dancefloor in half-time with a buzzing voice ceaselessly commanding:
“technology!” Clearly, The Navigators EP is a future-retro affair.
