This week's Junto project has always been one of my favourites -- so I recorded the first third of what will eventually become a trio. I played it on my Tele through a simple, straightforward signal chain of Chase Bliss Mood (the main sound), fed through a Dark Star and a Polymoon to add space and variations in terms of timbre. No further editing in the DAW. 

I went for as sparse a track as I could, to provide as much space as possible for my potential collaborators. My hope is that you feel inspired by my "almost crumbling to pieces" vibe, and I look forward to hearing what you will be adding over the coming weeks for it to become a trio recording.

Big Brain

birds, crickets, and black squirrels chirp
amongst the trees shaped as legs and torsos 
twined amongst the rocks
sheep bleat and low in the valley
chainsaws echo on the mountainsides
as the evening falls in autumn
the shepherds beat their sticks and call their flocks
below the cursed spring where 
they used to say, no unwed girl should pass

Made a few evenings ago while messing around with a patch I created in Vital. Additional bass sounds from TAL-Mod.

The track contains some samples from the Kenopsia pack by Emtpyvessel

The witches' path: Three cauldrons

revisited a longer recording from my modular system, made a few weeks back - and picked a ~5min segment to focus on

addition - recorded a repeating loop with some granular processing from my modular system to sit in the background (low end)

arranged in ableton live - some automation (mainly filter cutoff)

added a stereo pair of field recordings (referenced in title)
