Saskia Laval is a dj/producer based in Amsterdam. Her unstoppable hunger for being musically creative started already at the age of 4 years old, when she started playing classical piano music, knowing that music was the only thing she ever wanted to do in her life. Despite this deep need for being dedicated to music completely, she found herself doing stuff that wasn’t aligned with her creativity. 
However, she did conservatorium classical concert pianist study; she is a private piano teacher; played in a funk jazz band; sang in choirs; and then discovered electronic music, which also stole her heart. She started DJing, did the SAE Amsterdam electronic music production study and started producing. While working in Rio de Janeiro as a volunteer music teacher for kids in Rocinha, she had been asked if she wanted to be part of a female DJ collective in Rio and played a few times  with them in a club; being asked to work together with other local DJ/producers in their studio, and then also playing sets at different clubs in Rio de Janeiro. This was the actual start of her professional DJ/Producer career. 
She doesn’t consider electronic music as an art that needs to be put in boxes: this is electro, this is techno, this is house music, etc. She doesn’t like to think, create and play based on ‘boxes’. 
Although her sets are usually  mostly techno: dark, hard or industrial techno; she also plays different music genres like Brazilian funk and she likes to mix them while aligning to the vibe of the moment. 
Her track selection for her mixes is characterized by fast, driving rhythms that trigger people to dance, and deep melodic elements to feel the direct connection with their inner self and the people around them.
She played/plays in clubs and festivals in Amsterdam (and other Dutch cities); Germany (Berlin, Leipzig/Gera), Austria (Vienna, Klagenfurt), UK (Brighton/London), Poland (Krakow), Medellin and Cartagena (Colombia), Rio de Janeiro (Brasil).
