F.E.B. Savage: A Testament to Grit, Grind, and Talent

F.E.B. Savage , a rising rap artist from Peoria, Illinois, has carved a name for himself in the rap scene by transforming the adversities of his childhood into powerful, streetwise storytelling. Raised in a complex environment shaped by the absence of his father—a major drug dealer from Chicago who struggled with heroin addiction—and the resilience of his hardworking mother, Savage’s music embodies the raw essence of survival and determination. His mother, a pillar of strength, worked endless double shifts to provide for Savage and his siblings, instilling in him a relentless drive. “I get my hustle from my dad and my drive from my mama,” Savage says, reflecting on the duality of his influences.

From an early age, Savage showed signs of musical brilliance. At just 12 years old, he created his first song on a beat machine owned by his Uncle Jeremy, setting the stage for what would become his life’s calling. By 16, he was under the mentorship of Uncle Beats, road manager for rap legend Project Pat. Uncle Beats not only nurtured Savage’s talent but also introduced him to the business side of the industry, putting him on stages and teaching him how to craft his brand.

Savage’s break came in 2019 when he featured on Return of the Robbers 1, collaborating with Three 6 Mafia’s Crunchy Black and producer Psycho Capone on “ About A Ball “ . His work on that project solidified his reputation, leading to further opportunities, including working with legends Cold Hard of Crucial Conflict. His collaborations with Wildstyle of Crucial Conflict have produced unreleased tracks that showcase his growth as both an artist and a storyteller.

Between the ages of 21 and 25, Savage toured the country alongside Crunchy Black, sharing stages with major acts and gaining a wealth of industry knowledge. These years on the road were formative, giving him access to iconic studios and legendary artists while honing his craft through experience.

At 25, he recorded his breakout single, Dark Today, featuring Grammy-nominated artist Crunchy Black, in Memphis—an experience that elevated his artistry and marked a turning point in his career.  Savage continues to work tirelessly on new projects, collaborations, and performances, building on the lessons learned from those who paved the way before him.

When asked what motivates him, F.E.B. Savage speaks with deep reverence for his grandmother, Mrs. Campbell, whose unwavering support continues to inspire him. Her belief in his dreams fuels his determination to push forward, not just for himself, but for his family and the next generation of aspiring musicians.
