The message of this song is speaking directly to the ongoing dynamic between my inspired action and my own resistance.  This only happens:  ALL. THE. TIME.  (Maybe ya’ll can relate too ;)

In the space between Inspired Action and Resistance is a CHOICE to either stay focused on our big visions and to do the good works of our day (STAY CHEFFIN’) , OR -  to fuck off and well…..Go Fish….

All forms of art, greatness, and growth are supposed to challenge us to rise to new heights and discover new versions of ourselves……it’s just built into the process…

And, the versions of ourselves that meet and rise to the challenges presented are the ones I want to see most in the world - and so, I’m a stay cheffin’!! 

The beat of this track was fully inspired by the London on da Track & G-Eazy song “Throw Fits” – I heard this song and was inspired to throw my own twist on it – full RSPKT to that mighty collab!!

GO FISH (Feat. Deva Carolina)

I was introduced to Elephant Revival last year and their music had a deep impact on me. Their musicianship is world class, but it is their soul and chemistry that makes them truly shine bright.  

Their record, "Ring Around the Moon" evokes a powerful spirit that moves the heart. It was only right that I remixed it.

I made sure to keep this one organic as possible, using my MiniMoog Voyager to sculpt acoustic style basses and sounds. I maintained a focus on the original instruments and vocals because they sound to rich and lush, but processed them with heavy delay and reverb to give a wet distance feel. The track naturally flowed to 8 minutes long because the emotions I was expressing felt like a  journey within myself.

I put the of essence of my soul into this one, so I hope you enjoy.

This edgy, new-school hip hop single release, “Dark Clouds Rich Soul”, is a joint release that blends the unique vision and studio production skills of DJ Celeste Lear with the lyrical wizardry of conscious rapper RA-BE 333. Both are friends and professional recording/performing artists based out of Northern California, where they have teamed up together in studio and at various music festivals to unleash their sound and vision.  

This song displays a darker, moodier west coast hip hop vibe painted with mysterious sounding trip-hop tinged synth melodies and infused with futuristic, sub-heavy low end.  The lyrics and spitfire vocal performance by RA-BE 333 is truly poetic, inspirational and goes deep. The message? The dark storms that you have to go through in your own life, will ultimately make your soul shine in the end…

I improvised this song at Miriam and Casey's wedding at the foot of Mt. Hood in Hood River, OR in July 2019. 
I used a kalimba, a cello (borrowed from Skip von Kuske, thanks Skip!) my voice and an RC300 Loop pedal with a BOSS Reverb pedal and a BOSS Delay pedal.
