Cet enregistrement a été réalisé à l'aide d'une boîte à son que j'avais prévu d'installer au pied d'un chêne rabougri qui servait de poste de chant à un Engoulevent d'Europe depuis des années.
A mon arrivée sur les lieux peu avant le coucher de soleil, j'ai été surpris par l'envol "dans mes pieds" de deux Engoulevents (mâle et femelle). J'ai inspecté le sol au pied du petit chêne et y ai découvert une petite dépression dans laquelle devaient se reposer ces oiseaux.
J'ai installé la boîte à son et accroché deux microphones dans le chêne à environ deux mètres du sol.
Cette nuit là, le vent a perturbé l'enregistrement.
Les deux oiseaux sont revenus sur place, la femelle s'est posée dans la petite dépression. On l'entend s'agiter au sol au début de l'enregistrement (à gauche).
Puis le mâle l'a rejoint en se posant dans le chêne entre les deux microphones où il entame immédiatement son chant si caractéristique.
Enregistrement réalisé dans la nuit du 8 au 9 juillet 2023 dans la lande de Bramefan en Limousin.

This recording was made using a sound box I'd planned to install at the foot of a stunted oak tree that had served as a European Nightjar's singing post for years.
When I arrived at the site shortly before sunset, I was surprised by the flight of two European Nightjars (male and female) "at my feet". I inspected the ground at the foot of the small oak tree and discovered a small depression in which these birds must have been resting.
I set up the sound box and hung two microphones in the oak about two meters from the ground.
That night, the wind disrupted the recording.
Both birds returned to the site, the female landing in the small depression. She can be heard flapping on the ground at the start of the recording (left).
Then the male joined her, landing in the oak between the two microphones, where he immediately began his characteristic song.
Recording made on the night of July 8-9, 2023 on the Bramefan moor in the Limousin region.
Equipment used:
Sound box consisting of a Zoom F3 recorder, its power bank and a pair of EarSight Immersive soundscapes microphones.

Micro bat (large footed myotis bat) sounds and voice reflections from inside the disused (since 1932) Dularcha Rail Tunnel, Mooloolah, Queensland, Australia.

Audible sounds include: bat sounds, bird sounds, footsteps, distant trains (from the current train line) and voice reflections.

Sound recording by G R Legge, 32 bit float 192 kHz downsampled to 24bit/192kHz on a Zoom F3 with an Audio Technica BP4025 stereo microphone.

A pack of wild Eurasian wolf howls after sunset in mountain forest of Vercors.
One male starts howling, quickly joined by the others in what might most probably be a rallying cry.

We can hear, behind the stridulating insects (Upland Green Bush-cricket), European edible dormouse squeaking and throwing things from the top of the trees.
