Releasing music since 2009 as Sam KDC, British artist Samuel Wood has grown into one of electronic music's most passionate developers of the outer edge. In recent years, Sam has been an integral part of the Grey Area label and sound, a creative musical pathway that ties a musical bridge between 85 and 128 bpm with crafty polyrhythms. As further evidence of his versatility, his debut LP 'Late Night Innominate' Vol 1 (2015 - Auxiliary) was an entirely ambient long player which found favour across the electronic music world for its emotive power.

Omen Rising, Sam’s debut LP for Horo is also his first full length record to focus entirely on beat driven work. The album further incorporates the occult themes Sam has been using as pervading signifiers since his 2014 EP ‘The Order and the Entity’. Musically, Omen Rising sees the Grey Area sound re built into a hurtling fireball of energy stretching the constraints of what we know as Techno until the straps are blown off. 

Omen Rising is a confident showcase from an artist who has found a defining sound and is revelling in his ability to develop it entirely out on his own.

Hüseyin Evirgen is a composer, producer and DJ. He is one half of Cassegrain and has been working on his own solo material as Magna Pia since 2016. He studied composition, piano and electronic music at the University of Istanbul and Mozarteum Salzburg and has composed music for theatre, dance performances, and mixed media for almost two decades. After meeting Alex Tsiridis at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2008, they formed the techno duo “Cassegrain”.
Since their first release on Mikrowave in 2010, they have worked with a variety of labels such as Warm up, infrastructure NY, Prologue, Killekill, Counterchange and Semantica. In 2016 they formed their own imprint called “Arcing Seas”, which is now home to both collaborative work as Cassegrain, solo projects as well as guest artists. As Magna Pia, Hüseyin Evirgen focuses on providing combative dance floor trips and unorthodox sonic moods with subtle 90s techno references while he keeps his interest in combining contemporary techno music with archaic symbolism.

Modularz chief exec Adrian Sandoval, alias Developer, punches in the series with an addictive session of trampling 909-driven manoeuvres and deep swing aerobatics for the heads. A true master of techno in the richest, most acutely hypermodern sense of the term, the US-based producer stays true to his signature mix of AI-endowed electronics and unflinching floor traction. Expect a wild session of circuitous beats, modular sub-plots and raging machine thunder.

We are closing this year with the very last episode of the MindTrip podcast. For this special show Pfirter invites Token's label head Kr!z for an exclusive 100min mix. After 12 years of curating the discography on Token records, last April he finally used his platform to release his debut EP entitled Mantra that came out on vinyl and digital. His musical ethos is clearly stated from the track selection in this mix ranging from Jeff Mills, Jeroen Search, PAS to Dj Nobu, Mike Parker and more. February's episode on the MindTrip Podcast welcomes Swedish techno icon Joel Mull. Joel is one of the main artists who pushed Stockholm's underground scene forward since the mid '90s. He is among the very few who believed that techno would be the music of tomorrow and he clearly proved that with his musical career over the last two decades releasing numerous albums and EPs with his percussive signature sound on labels like Harthouse, Truesoul, Parabel, Dystopian while showcasing his DJing skills at the biggest clubs all over the world. Today Joel is finishing his new album that will be soon released on the label A Strangely Isolated Place under his alias Damm. There's nothing quite like a trip down memory lane, especially if it means we get to re-live one of our absolute favourite On the 5th Day gatherings.

Go back in time to July 21st 2018... following a good few months of excited anticipation, we finally welcomed the hugely talented, boundary pushing electronic music virtuoso, ASC (James Clements) to Corsica Studios, and heck was it immense!

The night left a beautiful imprint on our hearts and minds. The love and appreciation in the room for what was ASC's only European gig of that trip was cosmic, and the energy on the dance floor pure magic from the start to finish.

We couldn't help but dig through the archives to retrieve his hybrid set from the night and we've no doubts that settling into it will give you as much happiness as it did us.

Big love and thanks to ASC, and to all of you who were a part of it. Absolutely one for the books!

Inspired by the Berliner culture and the LGBT community, Léa definitely knows how to make the people dance. Her music always oscillates between rhythmic techno and deep bass lines. MIND is the part of BAHN· created with sounds designed to generate Alpha, Theta and Delta brain waves. Induces the listener to deeper states of consciousness beyond physical reality.

Metaphysical Communication means connecting on an energetic level, it is the deepest state of consciousness that an individual can reach, being in touch with the power of creation, the infinite energy source that connects everything and that is present in physical materia and energy.

He studied composition, piano and electronic music at the University of Istanbul and Mozarteum Salzburg. He has composed music for theatre, dance performances and mixed media for almost two decades. After meeting Alex Tsiridis at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2008, they formed the techno duo “Cassegrain”. Since their first release on Mikrowave in 2010, they have worked with a variety of labels such as infrastructure NY, Prologue, Killekill, Ostgut Ton, Counterchange and Semantica. In 2016 they formed their own imprint called “Arcing Seas”, which is now home to both collaborative work as Cassegrain, solo projects as well as guest artists. 2017 was a super year for Cassegrain that saw the duo tour around the northern hemisphere from Detroit to Tokyo to perform their live and DJ shows.

The unsettling terrain of Evigt Mörker's world can be broken up into a few frenetic parts that give the overall impression of a serene habitat. There's the otherworldly foreground of his techno works that are blissfully psychedelic as well as carefully structured for the most subtly disorientating shifts, and hovering amongst this is his wholesome grasp on the purpose and consequence of melody. Together, this is Evigt Mörker's deadly and addictive mix.

Hailing from Sweden, some initial forays into bands in his youth went hand-in-hand with an early exposure to techno. Yet it was the illegal rave scene in Stockholm that would prove to be most formative. The circuit of DJing and parties soon fed into the need to create a platform from which to work, and so the identity and label Evigt Mörker came into being in 2013. The first three releases cemented Evigt Mörker's ability to rouse melodic dynamics out of an ambient setting. Whether settling and fixating on a rhythmic pattern, or shuffling through different emotions, often these tracks would career into rapturous dancefloor pieces. It didn't take long until the formidable Semantica Records tapped him for a release, which produced the stunning EP, 'Helmet of Bones.' From this point, Evigt Mörker would come under the austere wing of Northern Electronics. Two terse yet incandescent EPs, along with a fourth release on his own label, have charged the air for his debut album, 'Krona'. Appearing on Northern Electronics, a brooding intensity defines the album, as well as a technical dexterity for carving dissonance into lush techno tools.

For those that have witnessed Evigt Mörker live or as DJ, a different side to his recorded output comes into play. Often far more forceful than his releases, there's an energetic and rhythmic power reserved for these moments. It's perhaps this versatility that's kept him in such high demand as a remixer. Taken to the other end of the spectrum, Evigt Mörker's live shows are capable of elegant ambient pieces, if holding a dancefloor down isn't the modus operandi.
