Sam Jam’s passion for music is evident when you see him on stage, whether it be seated with his acoustic guitar, jumping around while playing some killer solos on his electric guitar or beating his drums. The audience cannot help but get involved when Sam takes to the stage. This Kenyan-born man’s lifelong relationship with music started from a very early age.  It all began when Sam had to choose which subjects he wanted to study in primary school and he chose music ‘just to see what happens’.  It did not take long for him to realize that music has crept into his life, never to be evicted from it again. Sam’s passion for music was clear as he could often be found getting creative and messing around on the piano. Just finishing his homework assignments was not enough for him!  He had to explore what else the instrument had to offer him.

 His move to Port Elizabeth in 1997 served to further strengthen his love for music.  Here he was fortunate to be taught by well-known guitar teacher Dr Howard Nock, helping him hone his skills on the guitar. On top of that Sam started playing regular gigs at 4 Winds Folk Club, which enabled him to build a fan base and develop his style as a solo performer.  He also started playing with a rock band The Righteous (www.therighteous.co.za) who he still collaborates with today.

Sam is a true multi-instrumentalist who loves all of his instruments for their unique qualities.  He continues to play all of them and is looking into becoming a session drummer sometime in the future.  The guitar holds a special place in his heart though and he describes his desire to make it ‘sing’ like the greats: Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, Mike Einziger from Incubus and The Edge from U2. When asked who he aspires to be like a few names he admires for different reasons are mentioned.  People like Dave Matthews, who Sam and his friends have nicknamed ‘spider fingers’, John Mayer, Jimmy Hendrix and Howie Day are artists he particularly respects, not just for their technical mastery but also for their storytelling abilities.

‘But mostly I aspire to sound like me. Yes you can hear a bit of everyone but there is nothing like singing your own song to yourself and enjoying it,’ he says.

Sam Jam has now moved to the mother city because he ‘wants to know more about the music business’.  He was looking for a place where he could be part of a creative culture so he picked Cape Town as it is a city where he can definitely find a creative music scene to be part of, he finds himself particularly inspired when jamming with his friends on his acoustic guitar. This keeps him on his toes creatively.  He is looking forward to many gigs in the city as well as recording an album with The Righteous.

Gino Brown – the affirmed lover of music, South African DJ, music producer, songwriter and actor. Described as jovial and creative by his peers, the eager beaver discovered his ablaze passion for music as early as Grade 9. Having released a hit single “Body Language” which went on South African radio stations and infiltrated Africa.
•  Apart from penetrating the radio stations, the hit single received recognition as numero uno on MTV Base for 4 consecutive weeks. In Africa, the single has been number one on Nigeria radio stations amongst which is The Beat FM, Paradise FM and Niger 102 FM and play listed in Ghana on YFM and radio stations in Uganda. “Body Language” went further to Top 20 in Africa on Trace TV and Channel O. His career highlights include: nomination for the Metro FM Awards, Big Brother Africa and LIVE Amp performances.
•  In 2015 Gino Brown was the first South African artist to perform at the prestigious Gidi culture fest held in Lagos Nigeria. The festival is dubbed the biggest beach party in Africa. Gino performed alongside great artists across Africa, such as the legendary Congolese artist Awilo, Kenyan singing sensation Victoria Kimani,Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania and Burna Boy.
•  Inspired by the likes of Black Coffee, the beaver aspires to infuse the music industry by simply revealing to the world who Gino Brown is.

Serro is out to tell the African story through her Benga and Jazz-fused Afro-Pop sound. Influenced by Yemi Alade, Dela, Sautisol and Winyo, her sound contains hints of Kenyan traditional folk sounds.

Serro has graced numerous stages, while still pursuing her degree in Music at Kenyatta University. Her larger-than-life stage personna and powerful but fluid voice have made her performances memorable. From Sondeka Festival to Pawa Festival and her own concert (Kasha), she has ended up in the list of “Top 10 Female Artistes to look out for in 2016” by Kenya Buzz.

By the time she was graduating in 2017 (with first class honours), Serro had shared the stage with award-winning acts such as Sauti Sol, Dela, Wyre and added her mellow vocals to Juma Tutu & the Swahili Jazz Band and Ricky na Marafiki.

The video to her debut single , Rongai, released in 2016 was selected in Mpasho’s “Best Kenyan Music Videos in 2016”. The song was produced by Sauti Sol’s Polycarp Otieno and the video directed by VjOne.

Serro represented the country in 2015 at an intensive collaborative workshop in South Africa, as one of two students chose by the Music Faculty of Kenyatta University. The ‘musical storyteller’ has most recently been added to the Sauti Academy Hall of Fame as one of the outstanding alumnus.

The RATA Project. Acoustic sessions featuring original songs, written and performed by up and coming Kenyan artists.

P.O.P has been ripping up the Kenyan music scene for almost two decades and is one of the country’s original Dancehall and Hip Hop pioneers.  

P.O.P was born in the late 1970s in Kisauni, a ghetto in the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa. He started singing in his local church before he discovered dancehall and started Djing with a sound system called Deh Mension Mega Sound in the early 1990s. 

In 1996 he founded the band Ukoo Flani alongside Nguchi-P, Fujo Makelele and Doctor Dunga, all fellow Mombasans. After a few years performing between Mombasa and Nairobi they released their first album Recipe za Nazi in 2001.

The beginning of the 2000s saw him release singles like Mademu wa Mitaa, Mizuka, Mitaa and Kama Nalia Kumbe Nacheka, all which made it to the Kenya charts. In 2007 the second Ukoo Flani album, Kaya HipHop was released and with the huge success of the single Burn Dem, Ukoo Flani were catapulted into the spotlight and became a overnight sensation in the East African urban scene.

More recently P.O.P has been involved in the BLNRB project which saw three high-profile bands from Berlin – Modeselektor, Gebrüder Teichmann and Jahcoozi, come to Nairobi to create a compilation collaborating with some of Kenya’s biggest club names. The Kenyan artists later travelled to Berlin where they recorded a second album that is yet to be released.  

In the last few years P.O.P has also been involved in two documentaries: Maskaani Flani (2008) and Twende Berlin (2011). 

In 2009 P.O.P started a project called Kichaja, aimed at discovering local Mombasan talent. An album by the same name was borne out of the project and through the proceeds P.O.P helped found a local performing arts academy in his neighbourhood, called the Kichaja HipHop Academy.

P.O.P stands for Person Of People, Polite Ordinary Person or Pwani Old Product - depending on who’s asking. 

P.O.P’s first solo album – Popular Demand, is set to be released in July 2012

Sesan Odukomaiya, better known as Bámidélé; meaning “Come Home with me” is a Worship Leader for The Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Ambassadors, Nairobi, Kenya. 

History
Sesan Odukomaiya was born on January 16, 1983 and raised in Lagos, a city in Western Nigeria. He is the first born of the Odukomaiya family that comprises of his mum, two brothers and two sisters. He was a student of the University of Lagos. He studied Economics Education.

 In 2005, Bámidélé joined The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Sanctuary, Acme, Lagos as a back-up singer for the Triumphant Teens Choir under the leadership of Andrea Iyayi (who is a friend of his) and he later joined the Tehillah Choir late 2008 as also a back-up singer. While in University of Lagos, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2002. By the Grace of God, Bámidélé is Born-again and not ashamed to say it.

In 2009, he got a call from God to go to Nairobi, Kenya as a missionary. With the aid of RCCG, Dominion Sanctuary, Lagos he was able to carry out the mission assigned to him. He was one of the pioneer missionaries who came to set up, RCCG, The Ambassadors Parish at the Hilton Nairobi. He has continued to faithfully serve as a missionary and to the Glory of God; things are working out for his good.

Musical Career

Inspite singing from a tender age, it had not occurred to Bámidélé to venture out as a recording artist. However in July 2010, after the RCCG, The Ambassadors’ 1st Anniversary, a burden was laid on his heart to go ahead and release an album so as to Spread The Word to the Youths. 

Initially, the album was titled The Blueprint but was later changed to Spread The Word. 

Spread The Word album has Hot Debut Singles like What a Mighty God, Never Stop/I L.O.V.E. U Interlude, Forever More, I Go Love You Lord. The album has 7 tracks. The songs are multi-lingual in that he sings in English, Pidgin English, Yoruba and Swahili as a way to express his life experiences. The album can be termed as an East meets West affair and is widely expected to be popular both in East and West Africa. Similarly it was recorded partly in Kenya and partly Nigeria hence the unique merge of the two cultures in his songs. He has also been featured in songs by Kenyan artists, Saint P and Rough Tone.

Bámidélé enjoys a wide variety of Gospel music ranging from hymns to contemporary gospel. His main inspirations are; Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Gabriel Eziashi, Muyiwa Olarewaju, Deitrick Haddon, Marvin Sapp, Byron Cage, Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbett

Moses Odumbe is Kenyan, Nairobi Based Musician/Artistic doing Afro Fusion.

Young, African (Kenyan) and UNSIGNED artists known as Bruno Sokoto off stage and Bruno Kips on stage discovered his love for HIPHOP/Rap music when 13. Enjoying, loving it and having so much passion for it, decided to peruse it as a career. at the age of 17 he set up this fan page. in order to share his music frequently with a bigger crowed, updating his upcoming projects and to get support from his fans to build the brand name Bruno Kips.
