Chilean dj Diamin based in Berlin boiled a fresh new mix for our monthly #normcoreattitude on Noods Radio

Running the newborn label Tecnologias Elementales , her particular cartography of electronic music explores the roots of techno, focusing on how these
sounds intersect with bleep, breakbeat, electro and acid.
From 2014 she is also part of the foundation of the Djs collective Family Affair in Buenos Aires, which is still active and influential on the local scene and beyond.

Sofia’s work is suspended between sonic fierceness and dreamlike landscapes.

Following the strong desire to compose and perform live, Sofia’s music project developed parallel to her discovery and deepening into electronic music. Her view on music as a living being is reflected on the live aspect of her songs. Composing and programming her songs entirely on hardware synthesisers and gear, Sofia lets textures morph and melodies mutate to record them and play them differently ever time.

Within just one year, the Leipzig-based label Self Learning System has established itself as a serious and cheeky contender in the electro scene, and the third release aims to live up to this claim once again. DJ Unisex surprises with Chromatic Stimulations, as his four otherworldly tracks unfold a no-frills attitude on par with a trippy sound design between a revealing in and outro. This EP is not afraid to present raw and unsettling machine noises and rather revels in the bubble bath of reverberating and resonating synths from late night hardware sessions. 

Desire [ 136 bpm ] Don't be misled by the early onset synth pads, DESIRE is a disturbingly catchy bass monster of an electro track. 

Observer T - 8EM [ 132 bpm ] A perfect example of how a minimal club electro track doesn't have to be complex to make your body bang to it.

“Days On End” serves as a sonic archive of mid-pandemic moods. Through a collection of live-recorded tracks, it captures a raw, creative burst from Solotape during a period of stripped-down production. Signature rhythm-work and gritty sound design return for this extensive collection, released in two parts.

“I was kind of burnt out on music early during the pandemic - everyone at my house was suddenly home all the time and I never had any alone time to work on it. Eventually, I ended up renting a shared rehearsal spot nearby in San Francisco. My audio interface was still at home when I first moved in there, so I didn't have a way to digitally record. I brought my tape deck instead and pressed record when things started sounding good.”

“My whole setup was pretty basic with less instruments than I usually have. There was a sort of simplicity to making stuff that I think was good for me. I was just excited to work on music again, and wasn’t obsessing over the technicalities. I didn’t have any particular plans for what I was recording, and just set the tapes aside for a while. I had forgotten most of what I had recorded by the time I returned to them months later. I didn’t know what to expect once I listened back and essentially rediscovered all of the material like it was new. The tapes felt like a physical little time capsule of an earlier period. After I realized that I liked what I had made, I dubbed the tapes to digital and made some edits to clean them up. Almost everything from the three tapes is included here.”

Despite this simplified approach (or perhaps because of it), Solotape has created a body of work that is full of excitement, joy, and playfulness, as well as frustration, catharsis, and dread. At times rambling, at others immediate and visceral, it resembles a series of vignettes, tied together through a common tonal palette and form rather than emotional valence. “Days On End” strikes a balance of raw emotion and analog textures, providing an honest snapshot into the artist's internal world.

Rachael es una DJ residente en Madrid a cuyos intereses iniciales, circunscritos principalmente al electro y el techno, añadió la exploración de ciertas expresiones del hardcore continuum, así como incursiones esporádicas en géneros limítrofes. Su estilo está caracterizado por un uso ágil y directo del vinilo y por un principio constructivo marcado por una tendencia general a la acumulación de intensidad.


Rachael is a Madrid-based DJ to whose initial interests, mainly circumscribed to electro and techno, she added the exploration of certain expressions of the hardcore continuum, as well as sporadic incursions into adjacent genres. Her style is characterised by an agile and direct use of vinyl and by a constructive principle marked by a general tendency towards the accumulation of intensity.
