In this episode we each brought in a different short story. Corin brought A Simple Heart by Gustave Flaubert. Noah brought The Secret Integration by Thomas Pynchon. Alexander brought The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. Maiah brought Girls, At Play by Celeste Ng. 
	Each story was hand selected by each host, and covers a wide eray of genres and topics. In the episode, we discussed what we thought of each of the stories, if we would recommend them, and the importance of the stories ideas.

Out of Our Minds is the second longest running poetry radio show in the United States and airs on Wednesday nights from 8-9pm on KKUP Cupertino 91.5fm. The show is hosted by Rachelle Escamilla.

Angie Chuang is an author and educator based in Washington, D.C. She is the author of The Four Words for Home (Willow Books, 2014), a duel memoir about an Afghan immigrant family and her own Chinese American family. The book was the winner of the 2013 Willow Books Literature Awards Grand Prize in Prose, and has won an Independent Publishers Awards Bronze Medal for Multicultural Nonfiction. It has also been shortlisted for the William Saroyan Prize for Writing and the International Rubery Award. Angie is an associate professor of journalism at American University School of Communication. Her literary nonfiction writing has appeared in Creative Nonfiction, The Asian American Literary Review, Vela, and several editions of The Best Women's Travel Writing.

Rob Ruck is a professor of history at the University of Pittsburgh. His documentaries include The Republic of Baseball: Dominican Giants of the American Game. He has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Salon, and other publications and is the author of Tropic of Football: The Remarkable and Bittersweet Rise of Samoans in the NFL (The New Press). He lives in Pittsburgh.

Matt Sedillo is a Chicano poet, writer, creative director and public intellectual. He has been called “the poet laureate of the struggle” by Dr. Paul Ortiz and “the best political poet in America” by investigative journalist Greg Palast. Sedillo has been featured at over 90 colleges and universities including the University of Cambridge and a recent appearance at San Jose City College. He has been invited by countless cultural institutions, including Casa De Las Americas and has been featured on various media outlets including The Associated Press, Los Angeles Times and C-Span. He is the current literary director of the Center for the Arts in Pomona, California. His first book is called “Mowing Leaves of Grass” published by FLowerSong Books.
