If one were to imagine that some kind of divine musical intelligence had sprinkled extra-special talent in a few places on Earth, it's tempting to think that Hanover must be one of those blessed spots. Surprising, right? Yes, Hanover, the somewhat dull northern German city known for its trade fairs, consistently produces one talented artist after another. And now, we have Andere, whose debut album, "Alles Andere," on Kein Rauch ohne Feuer, continues the narrative of deep, yet raw electronic music. 

"Shifter" aligns with this tradition while infusing it with a playful and energetic twist. This six-minute surprise story begins as an almost melancholic dancefloor gem and then evolves into a euphoric sensation. You don't need any external stimulants for this track, I assure you. It elicits a warm and fuzzy feeling, takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, and eventually explodes into a moment of collective embrace and intense feelings, teetering on the line between ecstasy and overwhelming emotion. What makes this track special is that it has a steady development but a lot of surprises. At times you feel cornered, surrounded by the different sounds and then fully embraced. 

It's been a while since I've been this convinced about a dancefloor track. However, pigeonholing Andere as just a peak-time track producer would be an underestimate; the album demonstrates that. Like many artists from Hanover, Andere possesses that special nectar that allows him to excel across an eclectic range of styles.

PREMIERE: Andere - Shifter [Kein Rauch ohne Feuer]

Dear all. In these last days of the year 2023, I am happy to offer a small gift. Today I’m sharing the premiere of a new series of music: MIMI Frequency. 

This maiden voyage, release number 1, brings together a rich collection of dub-infused hypnotic techno, warm sub-frequencies and delicate melodies that are bright spots in the dark winter days. More than an hour of precisely selected records by the Dutch, and Berlin-based NICO (@nico-dost). Inviting us to slow down, take time to listen and notice the subtle changes that grow, transform and echo just beyond our initial attention. 

A podcast to float away with, ending the year in an introspective mode, while also reactivating ourselves for the new MIMI season. NICO skillfully balances between tracks that make you sink into the cushions of your seat, only to gradually turn towards pulsing rhythms that bring you back to the edge of it and get your body and mind moving. A steady path meandering through deep sonic landscapes that sometimes feel like misty mornings through which the sun's rays glow. 

The track selection includes music from the likes of Azu Tiwaline, STL, Toki Fuko and Luke Hess.

Ursprünglich aus Asdrid Lindgren's wilder Phantasie entstanden, erinnert der in Bern sesshafte Racker in vieler Hinsicht an Ronjas Wildpferd: Während seiner Sets fühlt sich der Musikfreund wie auf einem Ausritt durch die tiefen Wälder vom Räuberland: Mal trab, mal galopp, hier ein wilder Fluss zum Wasser tanken, da ein Bär auf Honigsuche.
Seit Beginn der Serie "Heu, Stroh &amp; Hafer" im Rössli der Reitschule Bern als Resident-DJ engagiert, geht seine Laufbahn als Plattenleger zurück bis in die Lehre als Grafiker in der Schule f. Gestaltung in Biel. Als es an seiner Klasse war, die alljährliche Weihnachtsparty zu organisieren, nutzte er die Gelegenheit, es selber hinter dem DJ-Pult zu versuchen.
Nicht viel später fand er zu seiner Familie, der Familie Festmacher, welche seit vier Jahren eher unter als über dem Grund aktiv ist und durch viele grossartigen Partys die Berner und Schweizer Technoszene mitprägt. Seither auch als Veranstalter aktiv, spielte er an vielen kleinen und grossen, revolutionären und legendären Partys sowie in einer Vielzahl von Schweizer Clubs.
Parallel zum Familienprojekt ist er Gründungsmitglied von "Midilux", einem Berner Technolabel, das sich auf Club-Abende spezialisiert hat, mit dem Ziel gute Musik zu verbreiten und die Vielfältigkeit der elektronischen Musik aufzuzeigen.
Die Freude am Reiten kann ihm niemand nehmen, und am liebsten nimmt Racker die tanzwütige Herde mit in die Zauberwelt von Technoland.
