“Hate Me” is one of those songs that tells a story that’s hard to forget. In this cover, I tried to lean into the emotional weight of the lyrics and give it a more intimate, personal delivery. I changed up the pacing and vocal tone to bring the pain forward instead of hiding it. Hope it connects with you.

Look… some people write piano ballads about heartbreak, others write piano ballads about destiny — we, however, wrote a piano ballad about two people who are absolutely, unmistakably, 100% not dating… except they kinda accidentally are… except they definitely aren’t… except someone brought flowers “as a joke,” someone framed them, and now the universe is just sitting there eating popcorn.

This track is basically the soundtrack to:

Splitting the bill because “we’re just normal friends, haha, totally normal 😅”

Touching a knee by accident but also somehow exactly on purpose

Flirting like undercover agents who forgot the mission brief

Panicking at compliments, saying “great plate” like it’s Shakespeare

Sending heart emojis while claiming you're “super chill, bro”

Texting like lovers, behaving like monks, and sounding like a Netflix pilot that got lost between genres

It’s the romantic tension of a 19-season TV show condensed into one piano song.
It’s the emotional equivalent of two magnets pretending they don’t know why they keep snapping together.
It’s the slowest slow-burn ever recorded — so slow even your grandma is yelling “kiss already!”

The Dodo's Nest is a song I wrote on a Sunday afternoon, at the top of the Moncenis Lake at the Italian-French border. It was a sunny day in early spring, there were snowy mountaintops reflections in the turquoise waters of the lake, green open fields hiding a discreet wildlife only visible to watchful eyes, and a slight breeze announcing delightful days to come... 

I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscape, Nature in its purest form, that it made me profoundly sad. Sad because I knew I was privileged to see this, Mother Earth at her best appearance. Because I knew in a few years, Mother Earth would have probably become uglier, her wildlife sparse, if not extinguished. And all because of me. you. them. us.

Derde Verde - Above The Flood

‘Moon Seems Lost’ is the new single from Glenn Echo, the second off an EP set to be released in spring of 2020. A nod to the intimate, ‘Moon Seems Lost’ explores the topography of bodies in union.

Each verse is a different timbral season; beginning with a trio of voice, acoustic guitar, and upright bass pulling your ear close, it is elevated by a string section culminating with an interlaced groove.

Featuring Matt Gaydar (vocals, guitars, percussion), Brennan Dugan (upright bass) , Peter Brownlee (piano, percussion), Alex Travers (violin), ‘Moon Seems Lost’ radiates the warmth of a shared bed, the magic of weaving beings in relationship.
