D-Nasty managed to surprise the world of drum&bass with his 2019 EP on Radar Records. Putting his own twist on the current uk sound, the resurgence of jungle music and old school jump-up landed him in the Rekordboxes of the biggest dj’s out there. Astounding sound design and an extremely meticulous approach to production helped him stand out. But the man wasn’t satisfied and locked himself up for months on end to reinvent his sound and the result is finally here. The Destiny EP shows a new & improved D-Nasty that’s aiming for the crown and has expanded his skills far beyond what anyone would have guessed he was capable of before. “Destiny” was already sent out and gave us a taste of what to expect, and he continues that path with "Encom Int”, “Dysphoria”, “Blinding Lights” and “Naufragé”, bringing back his girlfriend Laura for vocals (in French, this time around!). And he tops it off with a VIP version of Unusual, reminding everyone he’s still got that jump-up sound on lock too.

We’d love for this man to drop gems like these on us every day of the week, because we can’t get enough of his inimitable style. Top notch production as usual, an incredible knack for finetuning and an eagle’s eye for detail. Unmistakably Basstripper! “Back To Normal’ is one of the those tunes that proves you really don’t need anything but a bassline to run things, and once, someday, when we get back to normal, it’ll be great to hear this one out in the dance. “Lightspeed”, then, proves how much this man is a master at creating melodies with random sounds, just piecing bits together till everything falls into place. As one of those producers your favorite dj always keeps an eye out for, Basstripper proves, once again, why he’s ahead of the pack.

Only very recently did Rampage Recordings and Radar Records sign new talent Bare Up to its roster, a brand new UK artist that has a stockpile of tracks waiting to be released. His first release ever was ‘Pull Up’, which was added to the Rampage 2019 D&B sampler and was picked up by people across the board, proven by the many artists that played it out at the Rampage event: DJ Hazard, Murdock, Macky Gee and Harriet Jaxxon, to name the ones we picked up on.

Belgium-based Danger lives up to his artist name with this massive 6-track debut EP for Radar Records!

Having first made a name for himself as one of the producers on the forefront of the Belgian jump up wave, he now takes a different approach to things with six dark rollers, referencing reggae and hiphop among other things. All six are big tunes in the dance, and will appeal to different people, but the EP is magnificently coherent as a whole with a strong common vibe in all of the tracks.

From the roots infused Babylon that nods to the Clipz era and the Demolition Man-voiced Cycle of Life, to the ruffneck business of The Brink and the NCT collab Lights Out, that sees MC Haribo spitting straight bars all the way through, every track adds its own flavour to the EP.

Having your debut release played by Macky Gee, DJ Hazard, Harriet Jaxxon and Murdock at the world’s biggest drum&bass party is no small feat, but it’s exactly what happened when Bare Up sent out “Pull Up” and all four dj’s gave it a spin at Rampage.
Fast forward 18 months and Bare Up has grown and has expanded his skills, and his output has become more diverse and even better, and his new music is sitting in recordboxes of the likes of Andy C, waiting for this pandemic to be over.
His new EP is set to blow heads out of the water, as it ticks all the right boxes and showcases true craftmanship.

3rd track of the EP ‘Crawling’ is straight up dancefloor fire. The pounding, expertly made drums pound away and Bare Up adds the nastiest of wobble bass at peak time.

Radar Records welcomes back to the fold, two friends that have delivered us nuff bangers in the past. Two years ago, they got signed to the legendary Full Cycle, but they still found time to bring the heat back home. On the one hand, there’s “Never Gonna Fall In Love” which features the magnificent female vocal of Patricia Edwards, that takes you back to the days of live jazz clubs and champagne cocktails, while Baz & Simplistix introduce the beats and bass and allow the whole thing to explode into liquid dancefloor fire. And then there are ‘Wicked Man’ and ‘Lickle Boy’ that take an entirely different approach. Returning to both guys’ roots in jungle music and love for deep, wonky basslines and chopped drums, they put together two excellent rollers that capture that 90’s spirit, without ever pretending to be old school or falling in any cliche trap. Yes, the classic dancehall samples are in there, and yes, you can distinclly hear the jungle breaks clatter away, while wobbly subbass is ever present, but the total of all those elements result in something that’s undeniably 21st century Baz & Simplistix.
