Above the kingdom of Daventry is the Realm of the Sun, where magical beings called Archons protect the Mask of Eternity. The mask is an artifact that upholds truth, light and rank. Its leader Lucreto, however, becomes evil and shatters the mask into pieces. When a piece of the mask falls at the feet of a humble tanner named Connor Maclyrr, he picks it up and everyone in the kingdom of Daventry turns to stone and the land is sickened.

To collect all the shards of the Mask of Eternity, Connor must travel through a variety of topographically different lands. These include:

The Kingdom of Daventry is the land where Connor owns his house and where his royal quest begins. Here he encounters a wizard who offers him instructions on how to find the remaining pieces of the Mask of Eternity.
The Dimension of Death is ruled by Lord Azriel and serves as a pseudo-purgatory where souls await their judgment. This land is located in a plane outside of any other possible land in the game, and consequently Connor must find the gates to access it. After breaking the Mask of Eternity, the mission of the universe was wiped out accordingly, and the skeletal soldiers of Lord Azriel became unruly and rebellious. Thus, it becomes part of Connor's mission to suppress the Ascension.
The swamp carries within its borders a part of the Mask of Eternity. Although the swamp is not far from the kingdom of Daventry, the Lucreto disaster caused obstacles to block the road to the swamp. Consequently, Connor must first travel through The Dimension of Death to reach the swamp and obtain another shard of the mask.
The underground realm of the Gnomes consists mainly of tunnels underneath the mountain south of the swamp. During his journey, Connor meets the Gnomes who are struggling to restore an exit above their underground home.
The barren area is located above the Gnomes' underground realm and at the base of a volcano. It can be accurately characterized by its abundance of lava flows and the dry, hot terrain. Before the catastrophe, the inhabitants of this region regularly traded with those people who lived at the top of the volcano.
The Frozen Realms are the cold lands at the top of the volcano that encircles a lake of icy water. It is inhabited by the snow nymphs, ice orcs and gryphs.
Paradise Lost is a small collapse crater near the frozen lands and has the shape of a stone circle, which serves as a gateway to the Realm of the Sun.
The Realm of the Sun, like the Dimension of Death, is not physically connected to any other part of the world in which Connor's quest takes place. The land was a repository of the Mask of Eternity and is the site to which Connor should return all of his broken shards. It is here that Connor confronts Lucreto to determine his decisive fate.
At the beginning of the game, the half-stone wizard Connor meets summons a magic map for him that shows him all the areas he has already explored. Besides, it allows Connor to teleport between lands, once the teleportation points of each land (except the Empire from the Sun) have been opened.

Sie schleicht gern um den Gartenteich.
Auch der kleine flinke Spatz,
stibitzt gern Futter in unserem Reich.

Die Landschaft wird zum Wintertraum,

Der Winter ließ lange auf sich warten,
