After Violinbwoy’s successful ‘Mono County’ twelver and Moonshine’s tight collaboration with Steppas Records, the imprint is ready to march on and announce its next 12-inch coloured vinyl release waiting in line.

The mighty Mungo’s Hi-Fi and Sekkleman have taken up Radikal Guru’s (RG) prolific ‘Subconscious’ long player. Each has picked a track of choice to lengthen and relive the Polish sound of 2013. With a remix of originals 
‘Stay Calm ft. YT’ and ‘Earthwalker, the imprint’s back catalogue is steadily shifting the sediment of dub(wise) music.  

Mungo’s Hi Fi’s take on RG’s ‘Stay Calm’ is a meditative jam that reaches out to the most high. The track is led by a low-toned bassline that immerses listeners in lo-fi tremor. It shakes chest plates, while YT’s blessed vocal work transcends the average dub plate. His energetic lines of wisdom align with Mungo’s futuristic drum work; all to forge a revolutionary sound that honours RG’s dub style. Guided by several melody leads, swinging flows and sample tweaks, this rework really sets a groove of its own.

The flip side of ‘MS024’ reaches out to a confident steppa-style production that will remind many of scene favourite Gorgon Sound. The Australian-based Sekkleman has an exciting go at reinterpreting ‘Earthwalker’ in his own profound way: a pounding kick, rowdy b-lines and an enthralling flute escort listeners through the path to Jah. The mental atmosphere that follows suit sets a tone that touches upon RG’s original intentions. It bundles the roots of this stepper, allowing it to effectively trigger a journey that eases down the brain; just close your eyes and skank towards peace and unity.

‘MS024’ embodies a returning theme, consisting of two remixes that add even more significance to the existence of Radikal Guru’s 2nd album. For us, taking part in this movement is all that matters. Thanks for your support!

Vibronics meets Iration Steppas & Improvisators Dub - Dub Mind

ZamZam’s first encounter with the music of Diggory Kenrick was “The Lion Flute,” a wind-led cut to one of Jamaican music’s toughest riddims, the Mighty Diamonds’ “Africa.”  Years later it still hasn’t left the box, and it led us on a quest to acquire as many of his tunes as possible… E3 became obsessed with reaching out to him for a collaboration, and “Temple Duel” b/w “Temple Dub” is the resulting plate. Collaborations with legends including Bunny Lee, Lee Perry, and Jah Wobble have resulted in an extraordinary catalog of 7”, 10”, and 12” singles, to say nothing of producing an outstanding documentary on Mr. Lee, “I Am The Gorgon,” and countless liner notes and production credits for the untouchable Pressure Sounds label.
 
Kenrick’s signature sound is haunting and richly melodic, phased and distorted, lending an ancient-to-the-future vibe to everything he touches, whether rootical collaborations or left-field version excursions. 
 
Alter Echo & E3 and Headland had been wanting to collaborate for some time, and Kenrick’s high-plains-meets-far-east vibes seemed the perfect opportunity to build something truly unique.
 
The scene takes place deep underground, in blackened chambers untouched by the sun, ancient halls where reverb space is the guide and ritual combat is the only way out.  Subsonic 808 bass undergirds a near-industrial mid-range bass guitar groove, stiff snares, stick-fighting percussion, and the melody an ever-present narrative arc through the dark. “Temple Dub” strips down the flute and widens the cinemascope, with claustrophobic panning and vertiginous detuning echoes creating ghostly traps for the unwary.

One of the brightest lights of the roots-influenced underground community for the past half-decade, Poland born Mateusz Miller has pioneered a compelling and unique fusion of sounds that encompass dub, reggae and dubstep under his Radikal Guru moniker. Inspired by an appreciation of soundsystem culture, his music has become synonymous with suffocating degrees of dread bassweight, vibrant and eclectic palettes of tone, and varying energy levels that cater for both dancefloor focussed ruckus and for more meditative listening. Heavily influenced by the likes of King Tubby and Scientist, Matt first gained worldwide acclaim and recognition through a string of killer vinyl releases on leading reggae/dubstep imprint Dubbed Out, before forming a creative partnership with fellow label Moonshine Recordings where he has gone on to cement his reputation as one of the strongest proponents of the scene. His Moonshine discography boasts highlights that include his debut LP ‘The Rootstepa’ and the mighty ‘Dread Commandments’ 12”, and keep an eye out for some seriously exciting developments in the pipeline including the release of his second album.
