Black Rose's sixteenth release comes from the great greeks producers Alexandros Djkevingr and Greg Ignatovich and includes a stunning remix from Erly Tepshi. Rich basses and robotic voices define the original version of "86ing", in this track the synth will transport you into a hypnotic vortex of vibrations. In "Faniola" you'll find nostalgic grooves from the past and electronic glitchy sounds with again robotic vocals that define the track, get ready to jump into a time machine. At the end the remix of "86ing" from Erly Tepshi is a more melodic interpretation keeping the same robotic vocals and synth melody, you will feel the distant spaces in the main drop driving you into a vibrant sky of sounds.

Neopolitan juggernaut Sasha Carassi lands at Renaissance…

Italy has unparalleled dance heritage; the Italo sound reaches back over 40 years and was formative to British house culture back in the day. Jump to the present and its influence remains as strong as ever, perhaps even more so. It’s been an incubator to some of the biggest, most exciting DJs and producers on the planet in recent years, which includes current shining star, Sasha Carassi.

Sasha arrives at Renaissance on an absolute tear. His CV includes Diynamic, Drumcode, Bedrock, Atlant and IAMHER, with whom he recently topped the Beatport Indie dance charts. Heat doesn’t come close to describing it.

His ‘Invain’ three-track EP certainly won’t put a dent in that trajectory. It’s further confirmation of his flourishing-status and amazing ability to unite styles. “I produce with no particular scheme or genre in mind,” he explains, “I just keep my eye on the dancefloor.”

Title-track ‘Invain’ is a collaboration with fellow Neopolitan Davide Celiento aka Kendah, who provides a modish, infectious vocal. Both describe the record as, “A song of inspiration. It’s about escape, connection and mutual support following a highly uncertain period.” Presented as two versions, trainspotters may take particular joy in the ‘Galvatron Dub’, which pays title-homage to the late Angel Moraes’ ‘Heaven Knows’, a Renaissance classic if ever there was one.

Closing out the EP is ‘Desert Drop’, a deeper, club-driven affair designed to keep emerging dancefloors firmly in its sights and ‘Pathos’, an emotive breakbeat track that brings a real sense of variety to proceedings. “That one isn’t just for DJ sets and I do hope it crosses over in that sense. It’s deliberately introspective,” he concludes.

The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Simos Tagias back to the label for a new EP entitled 'Molecular'. The Greek artist has become a mainstay of the label roster with this being his eleventh appearance. As one of the most recognized names in progressive house, the Athens resident has showcased his music on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Cid Inc's Replug Records, Beatfreak Recordings and Sound Avenue. 2020 has once again been a fruitful year for Simos, already notching releases on Proton Music and UV. Now fresh off a remix for Clubsonica Records, Simos makes a welcome return to Movement Recordings with a three-track artist showcase.

Beginning with the title selection Simos explores his progressive roots with a warm, groovy creation that's sure to get your dance floor moving. Waves of undulating bass power the foundation while clattering percussion and cosmic effects surround the framework. Racing towards the main break, electric rhythms and luminous themes steal the air, perfectly setting up a tense centrepiece and exhilarating finale.

'Running Over Me' follows with a further lean towards astral techno territory. Rugged and rhythmic in all the right ways, fiery percussion and spaced out tones descend over the rippling foundation, as an indie-inspired vocal drops in for a magic moment. Expanding across a one-minute centrepiece, the vocal sits at the emotional core of the track, elevating mood before eventually getting washed away in a trail of astral sonics and punishing beats.

Rounding out the release is 'The Shamen' which finds Simos exploring another unique amalgamation of progressive house and techno.  Backed by a buoyant and well contoured groove, it's bounce and drive quickly become infectious. Billowing stabs and trailing effects offset each other nicely, as romping rhythms build momentum across the first act. Vocal fragments strike at opportune moments, adding additional depth as layers of sonic artefacts saturate your senses during a dramatic final movement. It rounds out a superb return to Movement Recordings for Simos Tagias, who is most certainly operating at a creative peak here.
