Defying the odds through travel and creating awareness around coloured representation while at it. This is the purpose and goal of Cape Town adventurer Ryan Jacobs. Having ventured into several countries and interacted with various cultures, this time Jacobs plans to embark on his most challenging adventure yet – a solo trip across the Atlantic. Until today, there has never been an African person of colour to take on this challenge.

Civil society groups have welcomed the Gauteng High High Court’s request to the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC) to end delays in the review application related to permits allowing weapons exports to Saudi Arabian and the UAE. It comes amid the backdrop of Saudi relentlessly waging war on Yemen, killing innocent people. Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been equipped with weapons from major exporting countries, including South Africa, to continue its barrage of attacks.
