It was a usual working day at the record store filled with the sounds of cashier bells, door slams, duct tape hugging LP mailers, and regulars chattering over new in on the speakers.

@amirhanani was emptying the return box when a record slipped out of the pile in his hands and fell on the floor. He bent down to pick it up but the record seemed to resist and as if on purpose sneaked out of the sleeve and back on the floor. A crimson red cover, and the label with some crazy art on it..a quick thought ran through Amir’s head: if I were a record, I would probably look like this one. No surprise now he was curious to hear it. He put the record on. Chattering fell silent. The only sounds one could hear was some exceptional music and the record whispering quietly:

– You pretty boy, finally got me spinning..

Last episode of GGHQ Selections, an audio triptych of different angle, by @briannotbrian, resident of RRWaves first edition.

Hello again friends. This is my last instalment (for now) for Radio Relativa. I wanted to share some personal favourites from the more ambient, downtempo and introspective end of the record shelves. Music for early mornings, or late nights. Deeper listening, 'mood music'. The music contained within this new selection takes in quite a number of eras and styles. Some of the names might be familiar, some might not, but one thing they all have in common is a sort of shared magic, a unique feel and melodic quality that really does something for me. There are days.... weeks.... where all I can listen to is Cluster, for example. I hope this final missive from my living room here in South London is enjoyable and enlightening, and that sometime soon I will be back on the airwaves on the good ship Relativa. Nuevos Medios: Una historia musical - 12/01/2024

Tercer y último episodio de la residencia de Andrés Noarbe para el proyecto RRWaves, un proyecto donde artistas que admiramos ahondarán en temas específicos de su propio interés.

Conversación con MIGUEL ANGEL RUIZ, pionero de la electrónica underground española desde su estudio en Madrid -Batan Bruits-.  Ruiz publicó en 1986 su primer trabajo bajo su alias más conocido ORFEÓN GAGARIN, en su propio y legendario sello de cassettes Toracic Tapes, manteniéndose desde entonces muy activo tanto en solitario que como parte de proyectos de colaboración con músicos de diferentes países.  Ha publicado docenas de trabajos en todos los formatos, en sellos internacionales muy reconocidos y bajo diferentes nombres: Funeral Souvenir, Exhaustor, Zoltan Coxis, Ventral Metaphor, Michel des Airlines,… además de Orfeón Gagarin y el suyo propio.   Fascinado por las posibilidades sonoras de los sintetizadores, modulares, e instrumentos analógicos y  digitales, el estilo de Ruiz es fantástico y sorprendente, con una imaginación que  puede catalogarse de apabullante en una larga y prolífica carrera que llega hasta la actualidad.  La cosmonáutica soviética, Borges, surrealismo, Moscú, patologías clínicas, el humor negro o la vida extra-planetaria: cualquier anomalía tiene cabida en el microcosmos de Miguel A. Ruiz.  Sus referencias musicales son muy diversas:  la música post-industrial , música cósmica alemana,  pioneros de la electro-acústica,  ambient,  pop retro-futurista, etc.  Hablamos de sus comienzos, de instrumentos electrónicos, de la red internacional de sellos de cassettes de música electrónica,  de auto-edición, de colaboraciones internacionales por correo, de la evolución y los cambios radicales en la escena electrónica desde los ochenta, etc.
