Radio 80000 is a non-commercial online radio from Munich and was founded in April 2015. It functions as a platform, promoting collaboration and cultural expression through music, dialogue and events throughout Germany. Currently more than 160 contributors regularly broadcast shows from Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Hamburg and Vienna.

At Radio 80000, established and emerging musicians, DJs and artists as well as music enthusiasts without any professional ambitions engage in what has become an intensive exchange – offering a unique selection of timeless and contemporary music, with quality always being the top priority.

Since its foundation, the radio has grown into a network that unites individuals, leading to new collaborations between artists, labels and institutions inter/nationally.

Since March 2022 our studio is located at the Zirka.Space in Munich.

As with all things washed ashore you never really know where they’re coming from. Hence little is to be said about Acid Kayak’s origins. Like the amphibians in primeval times he just manifested on an Isar beach somewhere in the early 2000s and by making fair use of his newly acquired extremities on dancefloors and/or behind the decks, started to infiltrate the Munich Disco scene. HipHouse, Aciddisco and Jackin Balearic Shanties is what he’s riding high on with an occasional Eskimo roll to poppier waters. With tunes rarer than the mighty Jaguar Shark, more pumping than JCVD’s fist and weirder than your average wale song, from Golf Channel to Eleven Pond he is known as Schrecken der Weltmeere. When he’s not paddling towards hitherto unexplored shores he’s throwing regular parties at club Kong in Munich with the FARBE AM MORGEN homies and/or spinning back2back with the @Lague-Moin crew .
