Bay Area heroes Mozhgan & Solar at No Way Back: Streaming From Beyond 2021, going deep and hypnotic in the early morning as they bridge the sound of the No Way Back cavernous dance floor with the heady beginnings of the Outer Space Room, playing directly between Mike Servito and Scott Zacharias. This is pure high end psychedelia, perfectly executing their concept of mesmerizing throbbing, burning and jacking jams with such grace, conscious intention, deep skill and passion. The styles and eras that they fuse is just so exciting, there’s nothing else quite like this — dripping with vibe. Heavy and heady.

My sound has evolved a lot over the past year living in New York. While I feel everyone knows me primarily for my percussive broken beat productions and sets, anyone who's seen me play recently will know I've been leaning heavily into driving psychedelic techno and hard groove house. So I wanted to make something that reflects my evolving tastes.

In that sense this mix is very much a statement of range and intention. I'll always love UK Bass and broken beat stuff but there's nothing like a good deep grooving wormhole to lose yourself in as a DJ and a dancer. 

Also, having been heavily involved in plant medicine this past year I've been making an effort to incorporate sounds that connect with my experiences in ceremony—sometimes light and joyous, often dark, cavernous and all-consuming. But, not to take myself or this vision too seriously, this mix is first and foremost for moving your bones and shaking ass, but in a hypnotic sort of way.

Hope you enjoy it start to finish.

Enter London's Riccardo Villella, designer by trade and expert co-curator of the beloved Truants series, who deftly translates those rare, fleeting feelings into this blissful two-hour mix. Identified Patient’s Bleep mix is a journey into darkside psychedelia and netherworld electronics which tops 100 minutes in length. The tracklisting is hugely varied in style - dark ambient, mutant junglism, caustic industrial experiments, leftfield techno and just about any other style with a confrontational, challenging aesthetic is roped into service by Identified Patient here. However, no matter which genre the producer/DJ is operating in at a given moment, the uniform feeling one gets from this mix is of dark energy. From the wandering drones and trip-hop lopes which kick things off to the frenetic rhythm work of the home straight, this mix remains as seductive as it is ominous.

"When acoustic-based electro and industrial sounds come together, it gives a kind of musical tension and discomfort that I really like. In a way, I feel this mix is a reflection of that.
