This edition of the series features one of our favorites of all time (no joke.), Tom Of England. The man who has worn many masks in the realm of music production played a Wicked (pun intended) set for our Drop monthly in the before times of June 2019. The room was wild and so was Tom as he tiptoed through genre after genre. Enjoy this snapshot in time from the Wicked Crew's own Dj Thomas, one of the most influential DJ's in Innerflight's inception. We're bringing the dude back again to play the newly sheltered and winterized Monkey Loft deck on Friday November 5th. We've staked the lineup with Dion Christopher, Rebekkah Angeber, Unknown ?layer and a birthday set from our own Kadeejah Streets. Don't miss this one cause we're gonna burn it down.

digging deep into my collection for this one, from early 90s italian house masters don carlos and alex neri, all the way through to new balearic sounds of chaos in the cbd and glenn Davis , we used to call stuff like this ambient house back in the day and it was played in raves clubs and free parties all over the uk, from sasha to DIY, it was the piano style house sound. I’ve also included some new artists who are breathing new life into this early sound… from Rome, to Ibiza to London and back… this is a all vinyl mix, expect snap crackles and the odd duff mix, as thats how it was, photo taken by my self, Ibiza 2018….we continue

It's been 30 years since I started playing records to people, so I thought I'd dig a few of them out and go back to 'about that time'. Enjoy some of the tracks me, my friends (Dave, Ally, McNiv, Jaki, Marcus, Stevie, Ryan, Gourley, Jeff, Tim, Ross, Laura, Neeps, Ruth, Mike (RIP)and Aimi) and dancers enjoyed.

There's also a homage to the DJs that changed the way I approached playing records; not only to play great songs but to try and arrange technically to perfection. Shouts to Sasha, Paul Ritchie and Harri.

Scott Proper : About That Time

Luke Solomon build his foundations in the early 90s starting off behind a record counter at Stop on By in Barnet. Moving on to the legendary Freetown Records and then on to Narcotic Records for Roger Sanchez he worked in PR and promotions. During this time, he gained a residency at London’s ground breaking pirate radio station Girls FM where he met his dearly departed friend Kenny Hawkes. Together they set up the London mid-weeker Space where they invited people like Chez Damier and Derrick Carter. Meanwhile Luke had become close to Derrick Carter and together they set up the Classic Music Company which is currently enjoying a huge renaissance. Amongst all of this Luke began his studio career forming the house music duo “Freaks.” Fast forward over 25 years where Luke Solomon has been guiding the good ship Classic through a seminal year and working closely as A&R with Simon Dunmore at both Glitterbox and Defected. Over the last few years he has been cementing his position as a Producer, working with Horse Meat Disco on their forthcoming album on Glitterbox, and with Honey Dijon on her second artist album forthcoming on Classic in 2020 and writing with the legendary Kathy Sledge on brand new material. Luke has also kept his London residency status holding court at the sadly closed Savage Disco @ Metropolis and moving now to a permanent residency at XOYO in London. He also continues to work on solo music, currently enjoying success with his studio band “Powerdance.”

Lumberjacks Tapes 002: Luke Solomon

An ongoing soundtrack experiment series taking place in the ethers. Carefully curated / spliced & strung together by two long term friends on two separate islands at other sides of the world. Mark Broadbent & David Hinchliffe. Ibiza, Spain. Koh Chang, Thailand. Respectively.
The project was started when Mark returned back to Ibiza after an extended trip in Asia to be confronted with the Corona lockdown of winter 2020 and was finally able to find the time to put into operation a project that he had had in mind for some years whilst traveling the globe listening to other peoples musical choices in the guest houses he found himself in. Having programmed music professionally for festival stages and nightclubs for well over twenty years this was more often than not a very trying experience. So the idea was to collate the perfect guest house soundtrack that anybody could access anywhere in the world at any time of day or night. And find the best music to fit the scene they found themselves in. Most of the selections in the series are themed and accompanied with a short description more often than not written by Dave.
