Chris Wood is a legendary double bassist and bass guitarist from Colorado, US. He is known for playing with and co-founding jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood, and Americana fusion band The Wood Brothers. Chris attended the New England Conservatory of Music and has studied with the likes of Dave Holland, Geri Allen, and Bob Moses. Chris Wood is an internationally-recognised bassist and musician, known for free, genre-fusing performances as well as rock-solid grooves and a general mastery of his instrument.

The host: Michael Sapiro, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist, writer, meditation researcher, and former Buddhist monk. He is on faculty at Esalen Institute, is a Fellow at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and is completing a study on time travel, hope, and unconditional love with Dr. Julia Mossbridge of The Institute for Love and Time. Dr. Sapiro completed his postdoctoral fellowship in advanced psychology at the Boise VA Medical Center where he specialized in rural health, PTSD, and combat trauma. Dr. Sapiro is often on podcasts, and teaches nationally on the art and science of transformation, expanded human capabilities, self-care, and nondual meditation for personal and community growth. His work integrates meditation practices, psychology, noetic sciences, and social justice, and is dedicated to personal awakening for the sake of collective and planetary transformation. This thirteenth Eckhardt And The House single is again a fine example of the band's development towards a more uptempo and danceable indie sound. The band has been taking elements from pop to avant-garde to disco-funk and twisted it all up into a signature sound with wild experimentation and disregard for the norm.

Humans is based on a Peruvian folk song that has been added to the Voyager Golden Records. The Voyager Golden Records are two gramophone records that are on board of both Voyager spacecraft that were launched by NASA in 1977. The records contain sounds and images that have been selected to reflect the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are meant for any intelligent alien life form or for future people who may find them. The records are a kind of time capsule.

That is why Eckhardt And The House introduces itself to extraterrestrial life in the lyrics. "We are humans, living creatures on the planet earth, we are children of the sun waiting for you to come."

In the (hip-hop)beats, you could hear the Beastie Boys - Root Down. The overall feeling of the single tends to that delicious Fools Gold song of the Stone Roses.

With so far twelve singles and an album under their belt the current play count on Spotify is 1.7 Million streams. The band scored iTunes chart positions in ten European countries plus Turkey, Brazil, South Africa and Japan, Spotify charts in The Netherlands, France, Italy and Turkey plus airplay in six European countries and the US. Press rolled in from worldwide.

As Ritual Cloak’s sophomore album draws closer, we’re excited to bring you another nugget from the much anticipated long-player. High Teens, Low Twenties will be released digitally on the 2nd April 2021. The track follows in the vein of the previous singles Opaque Crater and White Noise with the duos unique approach to post-rock, cinematic soundscapes.

“High Teens Low Twenties is one of our favourite tracks to come out of the second album's recording session. It came about as Dan had forgotten he'd stored a reversed loop of a simple arpeggio on his loop pedal. When we were setting up in the studio for a session Dan clicked the looper on as it was flashing and this sound just burst out! We both looked at each other and got to work immediately, and the song was pretty much finished by the end of that day.”
