A live recording of Steve Good opening the final day at The Labyrinth 2019. This was the Typhoon Hagabis year, an event that began and ended with storms, with a sunny respite in between. This set represented a moment of calm before the storms returned on that special weekend which we will never forget.

Deep Breakfast 303 ~ Kim Kenis

This month, we are delighted to welcome Vinsen, based in The Hague, to our series. Slowly and steadily, he’s been crafting a musical realm that drifts between heartwarming melodies, textured soundscapes, and subtle grooves. His mixes and DJ sets reflect a deep passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, sci-fi books, and the everyday beauty of life in his city.

This particular mix was recorded mostly at the enchanting Above Below festival in the UK, surrounded by rolling hills, a gentle brook, blooming trees, and birdsong—a setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Inspired by the magic of the landscape, Vinsen brought that dreamy atmosphere to The Coombe, the festival’s special ambient stage. The final version has been subtly adapted for a more intimate and conscious listening experience at home.

Descend into the immovable silence of Liturgia Atra, the eighth ritual cycle of the Arkanæa saga. Here, in the cold echo of stone and void, the divine watches without whispering—no warmth, no seduction, only the gravity of ancient liturgy.

Deep, distant Gregorian fragments drift through bowed-stone drones and pipe-organ undercurrents. Metallic scrapes and bone percussion punctuate rusted bells and gongs, while reversed vocal loops and breathless Coptic murmurs swirl like wind in a crypt. Cold analog synths and subterranean thunder recordings ground you in monolithic austerity.

This is a fossilized hymn—an archaic, post-sacramental relic where every tone uncovers what should have stayed buried.
