Ron Trent Presents: WARM 080624

In July 2010, I got an invitation to play at a small but neat festival named Folk Ibiza. It was my first visit to the island. I got to spin at a bunch of different locations, such as the Hostal Boutique Salinas, Sunset Ashram, and on the terrace at Space. I returned in September of the following year to play a set on Andy Wilson's show on Ibiza Sonica and a second time at the Hostal. I have not been back to Ibiza since. I recently came across this picture (taken at Cala Compte next to Sunset Ashram), which inspired me to make this mix. I tried to sonically capture the vibe that I felt back then. It includes some bona fide classics such as Ashra "Oasis“, Santana "Aqua Marine," and Jah Wobble & Holger Czukay "Hold On To Your Dreams," as well as tunes by Smith & Mudd, Begin, Quiet Village and more. Recorded "LIVE" on Easter Sunday, 2019 - Here's a nice long (just under 5 hours) taste from what was a beautiful 8 hour journey of sensational music curated on the fly by the super combo of GE-OLOGY and RED GREG (both amazing in their own right), whose individual and combined music knowledge, chemistry, insane record collections, and masterful DJ skills WOW'd the Selectors Stage audience at DEKMANTEL a few years ago when they first paired up to play back-to-back. Ever since, it's been a treat to see these guys team up on a few more occasions...and the 6th birthday celebration for the FEVER 105 crew was no exception! Pure musical bliss....enjoy!
