RADIO ELECTRONICA was one of the first independent radio programmes to go on air in Jena in 1999. The background was to bring colour into the dreary Thuringian radio programme and to create a platform where regional and national artists from the electronic music scene could present themselves and exchange ideas. RADIO ELECTRONICA claims to be always on the trail of new influences, trends and artists in the field of electronic music.

The show quickly developed from the first pre-productions to a live broadcast, which can be heard every four weeks on Saturdays from 7pm to midnight on the open channel Jena on UKW 103.4 Mhz and via online stream (https://radio-okj.de/wp-content/themes/radiookj/okj-player.html).

With a steadily growing fan base, RADIO ELECTRONICA is still a firm institution in the field of electronic music in Jena and beyond the city limits. Besides the latest scene trends and record presentations, studio guests are a big part of the show.

Mario a.k.a. Jr. Senior is djing for more than 15 years now and is  a regular guest on decks in Rostock's (north east germany) subculture scene. But also transregional gigs, as in clubs and on events like BKI and Wasserschaden/Hamburg, on the MS Stubnitz or on the Pütnitz Festival are among his recent stations as dj.

Combine well tried with young and fresh ideas! That is how to discribe Jr. Senior's musical philosophy the shortest way. So it is no surprise, that this attitude also has been inspiration for his project name. Trying to pigeonhole the "young senior" couldn't become that easy. And he's celebrating it again and again with his varied mixes. But a common theme is part yet in all his well selected tracks. From wonderful deep down to flaring up,  percussive rhythms; his fascination for crispy hi hats, attractive breaks and lots of pressure down below are shaping his way of selecting music.
Driven by constantly new input and most diverse musical influences, the senior will gives us lots more for ears and legs, for sure...
