Zur Juni Ausgabe der RE-Broken Beats gibt es diesmal sogar zwei Gastbeiträge. Der internationale Beitrag kommt von Black Barrel. Der 29 jährige Künstler kommt aus St. Petersburg und released auf dem bekannten englischen Label Dispatch Recordings. Er ist für einen trockenen, härteren und technoiden Sound bekannt. Davon überzeugen könnt ihr euch in den letzten 60 Minuten der Sendung. Einen lokalen Beitrag gibt es vom Jeaner Urgestein TKR. Er hat eine lange Historie als Produzent von Dubstep, Techno und Drum‘n Bass hinter sich und ist aktuell im Jenaer DnB Kollektiv Bass Up aktiv. In der ersten Stunde gibt es wie gewohnt eine Stunde frische Releases gespickt mit ein paar Klassikern vom Host der Sendung, Kobee. Abgerundet wird die Sendung von einem Interview mit zehn Fragen an Black Barrel.

Based just outside of London, Telomic AKA Elliot Berger has already proven himself in the realms of Dance Music, racking up tens of millions of streams under his own name, before shifting to the deeper side of Drum & Bass.
Telomic gained his major break in 2018 with a two-track EP released on Liquicity’s sister label Galacy, featuring Laura Brehm and Notelle, hitting hundreds of thousands of streams. Signing with Liquicity in 2020, Telomic went on to release both the Gravity Within EP, and the Window Light EP, reaching widespread support from artists such as Sub Focus, Rene Levice, Maduk, Keeno & more.
As a DJ Telomic has toured across Europe from dark underground clubs to sunny rooftop venues. His versatility is such that he has always been able to switch his style and tear down a big festival or keep the crowd bubbling in a smaller intimate venue; because of this Telomic has featured on many Radio shows and podcasts, including: Fokuz Recordings, SINE Series, Whitepark Music, Rough Tempo, Data Transmission and many more.
Telomic has released on labels such as Liquicity, Galacy, Celsius Recordings, Breach Audio, Terra Firma and more. Telomic has also had major support from Liquicity, SkankandBass, Drum&BassArena and Ninja Ninja. Dubbed ‘artist to watch’ and with many releases lined up, it’s clear that he means business.

This is how Ben Downton describes his passion for drum and bass music as a Producer and DJ. Having grown up in a musical family he experimented with many genres and instruments such as violin and bass guitar from his very young age. Ben joined a few bands but he quickly found his own way to express himself in music.
In 2004 his brother bought him a copy of Cakewalk SONAR as a present and it showed him the way into making Electronica, Dub and Minimal-Dubstep. Under the alias ‘Morah’ he released and played dubstep around the UK and Belgium by 2010 but it still was not a perfect match with his musical attitude. Drum and bass came into his view about a year later and Ben started to produce in this genre with fellow producer Locustlang. Together they wrote the techy, 4 track EP, “Sentinel,” which broke into Drum & Bass Arena’s top ten charts and was supported by Phil Tangent.
In 2016 he switched his alias to Low:r and since then he releases his tracks on Fokuz, Spearhead, Soulvent, Soul Deep and Terra Firma but he is going to appear on bigger labels as well soon. He has been DJing with huge names, like Spectrasoul, Pola & Bryson, Halogenix and his tracks are being played by DJs from all around the world. DJMag rated his track ‘Locked Away’ 7.5 and mentioned him alongside such as big names as Hybrid Minds and Delta Heavy. For his records Low:r takes inspiration from producers like Camo&Krooked, but his everyday life has an impact on his production too. He never stops working and comes up with something new most weeks. Definitely, a producer to keep an eye on.

As head of renowned label Spearhead Records, BCee’s golden ear has introduced a galaxy of new talent to the world. Artists like SPY, Netsky & Technimatic cut their teeth at the label, rubbing shoulders with scene giants like Danny Byrd and Alix Perez. BCee’s love of discovering and developing young, promising artists such as Hybrid Minds, Dexcell and LSB makes him a natural fit with the Clinic ethos.

After starting his DJ career in 1995, BCee fell in love with the sound of musical Drum & Bass. Teaming up with Kubiks, the duo launched Rubik Records in 2002 with their debut production ‘Life Changes’. In 2005 he teamed up with Lomax (Loadstar) and together they released more than thirty tracks on labels including Innerground, Fokuz, Nu:Directions and more.

BCee has released over 200 tracks and remixes across 6 studio albums, 2 remix albums and a whole load of singles and EPs.  Some of his most notable tracks include:  Is Anybody Out There? feat. S.P.Y, Back To The Street feat. Philippa Hanna, Firebox, Come & Join Us, Lost & Found feat. Rocky Nti and Northpoint feat. Riya.

BCee has also remixed tracks by P Money, Camo & Krooked, Jakwob, Blu Mar Ten, Hybrid Minds and a whole lot more.

In 2005 BCee launched Spearhead Records, which rapidly developed from a simple record label into a fully-fledged event brand. Having outgrown Brixton’s Plan B and Shoreditch’s Village Underground, BCee’s ‘Spearhead Presents’ club events go from strength to strength.  Alongside their current residency at the massive five-room EGG:LDN, Spearhead continues to tour the brand both at home and away.  With guest appearances at venues like London’s Fabric & Prague’s Cross Club, boat parties and festival stage takeovers, ‘Spearhead Presents’ is a force to be reckoned with.

BCee is also one half of prolific duo The Vanguard Project.

Andreas Trümper has long since made a name for himself in the Thuringian drum & bass scene with his DJ sets and productions. Once known as 'Truempman', the Erfurt native has been making music under the name 'Maverick' since 2014.
When he joined the Rock'n'Rule Entertainment Crew in 2009, the musical career of the native of Eichsfeld began. Due to the fast pace of today's Drum&Bass, Maverick already gained a lot of experience and impressions in different sub-types of this music. Today, his sets and productions are a crossover of harmonic liquid drum&bass, deep basslines and classic break elements from jungle. Thus, versatile and varied mixing is a guarantee at every party.
In addition to his work as the creative head of the Sector 8 Crew, the Thuringian is co-founder of the PunchBlog homepage. The still young project provides its readers with the latest facts from the drum & bass world on a weekly basis and is an event calendar for the German-speaking region. Furthermore, Maverick is part of the Addictive Beatz project, which is an association of various artists, including his Sector 8 colleague Janosh.
Most recently, Andreas convinced his audience at various parties in his hometown of Erfurt. But he has also celebrated successes in cities like Leipzig, Kassel and Jena.

Jimmy relaunched Beat Assassins in 2016 having had previous success between 2006 & 2010 with Joe Lenzie of Sigma.
Since then Beat Assassins have had over 20 releases on various drum & bass labels such as Viper Recordings, Jungle Cakes, Dope Ammo, Gorilla Warefare, Wonky Goose and Jimmy's own label Mofo Recordings.
 
A number of high profile drum & bass acts have remixed Beat Assassins. These include; Mob Tactics, Dope Ammo, TREI, Toronto Is Broken, DJ RAP, Kursiva, Giganti & Phibes. The Home Grown remix by Phibes became a Global Beatportnumber 1. Something that has only been achieved by a handful of drum & bass producers.
Beat Assassins also remixed UK festival superstars, the Dub Pistols. A massive track called Addict which was the title track of their LP later to be released on Jungle Cakes.    
Beat Assassins signature sound is vocal-driven drum & bass resulting in some collaborations with high profile artist such as, Ragga Twins, Rider Shafique, Miss Stylie, Scarlett Quinn & Sifu Chan to name a few.

The national guest set comes from the Dresden based Dj duo and producing trio Constructive Sine. Constructive Sine is formed by Venom218 and Sonza and supported by Wolfkid in their producing projects.
They bring 15 years of experience and are releasing under the alias constructive sine since 2019 on labels like Celsius Recordings and Pulsation Audio. As always the host of the show Kobee will present some new releases from the last months in his set in the first 90 minutes.

There is really nothing more to say about Bassface Sascha than "Drum´n Bass Pioneer". He´s literally involved in dnb in Germany from the first second. Beginning with the first 
Drum´n Bass nighter in Germany in the legendary milk! club in the city of Mannheim, over the XS club in Frankfurt, hosting his own radio show in the early 90s and many more.
He played on nearly all dnd relevant clubs and festivals in Germany like: Mayday, One Nation, Kings of the Jungle, Nature One, or the Sonne Mond Sterne Festival. He also played in many 
different countries like Canada, UK, Italy, Spain and many more. He created remixes for Eminem, Rihanna, Nosliw and had released an big labels like Higher Stakes, Lion Dub International
and Ruffneck Ting. One could write books about him, nevertheless we are just happy he provided a one hour guest mix and an interview exclusively for Radio Electronica Broken Beats.

RADIO ELECTRONICA was one of the first independent radio programmes to go on air in Jena in 1999. The background was to bring colour into the dreary Thuringian radio programme and to create a platform where regional and national artists from the electronic music scene could present themselves and exchange ideas. RADIO ELECTRONICA claims to be always on the trail of new influences, trends and artists in the field of electronic music.

The show quickly developed from the first pre-productions to a live broadcast, which can be heard every four weeks on Saturdays from 7pm to midnight on the open channel Jena on UKW 103.4 Mhz and via online stream (https://radio-okj.de/wp-content/themes/radiookj/okj-player.html).

With a steadily growing fan base, RADIO ELECTRONICA is still a firm institution in the field of electronic music in Jena and beyond the city limits. Besides the latest scene trends and record presentations, studio guests are a big part of the show.
