Melbourne beatsmith @M5K has been turnings heads for a minute with his phat, boogie infused-stylings. The producer's style could be described as a tasty amalgam of 80's electroboogie flavor with boom-bap and house aesthetics. It's been over a year since his last drop and we're so glad to him back. The vehicle for his return is a white DeLorean by the name of Absolutely Real, available now on LA-based modern funk and boogie imprint @HoboCampRecords.

"Can Never Get Enuff" boosts the tempo slightly into more mid-tempo boogie-house range, with vibes reminiscent of M5K's own Marcy Ave EP from Voyage, as well as that of New York-based modern funk and boogie imprints Arcane and Superior Elevation. Again, the Moog hooks up the low end, while an array of synths dance and hypnotize you in the higher frequencies and eventually produce a euphoric climax. It's a mean jam that could set the dance afire, or conversely, easily soundtrack a speedy late night highway cruise.

We are very excited to present “Soloft” as the debut of our FM4 Unlimited Matches series: a collaboration between Colipher (the alter ego of Sebastian Kargl, multi-instrumentalist of Austrian indie band Catastrophe & Cure) and Tobias Koett, singer and head of Berlin-based rnb electronica project Ant Antic. In their first cooperation, dating back to a time when they were sharing a flat in Vienna, the two friends conjure a magical world of melancholy, where dance and pop don’t contradict each other but coexist in a wonderful symbiosis. “Soloft” is living proof that a song doesn’t need to be wrapped in kitsch and cluttered arrangements to immediately get stuck in your head: Tobias’ distinctive trademark vocals will get you hooked right away (and stay with you forever), while hazy harmonies and fluffy synth sounds gently wash over the crisp low-ends of a rumbling bassline. The minimalist instrumentation and subtle groove leaves enough room to breathe for every single sound in the arrangement, and the vocals seem to be floating effortlessly over a warm and organic texture of elaborate synth work.

SHE'S LOST is the brainchild of Space Echo and Curtiss Cobane: the dynamic duo from Vienna have teamed up with the British rapper for a gloomy tribute to classic disco, full of vintage synth sounds and new wave aesthetics.

Warm and fuzzy textures, solid grooves and an overall analogue lo-fi vibe are the trademark sound of Vienna-based producers caTekk and Lee Stevens, who together form Space Echo. SHE'S LOST has all of that, and more - as the distorted reverby vocals laid down by Curtiss Cobane keep washing over the rumbling old-school bassline, memories of Underworld's rave anthem "Born Slippy" inevitably come to mind.

FM4 UNLIMITED MATCHES is a collection of electronic dance music by friends and fellows of the legendary radio show FM4 Unlimited, ranging from catchy vocal-driven tunes and straight four-to-the-floor club tracks to more subtle and experimental cuts and broken beats: a representative cross-section of Austria's vivid club culture.

The track’s infectious groove pulls you in faster than you can say “marimba”, and as the playful little melody gets stuck deep down in your brain within the blink of an eye, you can actually feel that spring (or is it summer?) is getting closer and closer.
