This once in a lifetime project brings together many of our generation's most notable beat scene creators such as The Kount, Rob Araujo, Kaelin Ellis, and Louis Futon, with a cross generational touch in featuring Matt Johnson the keyboardist of Jamiroquai.

This compilation album is a leading case in which artists who are all actively creating a massive impact on today’s Hip Hop/ Funk scene are being brought together to create a punchy, groovy, boom bap powerhouse. THE HEIST has seen its full release on all digital platforms as well as a special edition released on vinyl in extremely limited supply. Today we've got a treat for you with a new single from https://soundcloud.com/tanebeatz titled "Inspirational Speeches" as apart of our ongoing singles series "Parallel Voices", curated by @slowya_roll to spotlight forward thinking fusion, broken beat, and experimental jazz - really, anything that grooves. 

Tane's new track is a saucy addition to his already broad collection of tunes. Known for his minimalistic and tasty productions, Tane fuses the flavors of early 2000's hip hop and neo soul with elements of old school funk and fusion. His masterful guitar playing and arrangement skills are highlighted on this grooving track, taking as much inspiration from the current new jazz scene with artists like Kiefer and Tom Misch as it does the older legends like Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheney.

Tane's been cooking up syrupy tunes for years now, through releases with Chillhop and Sundae Sauce, Instagram collab videos, and has even gone above and beyond to create his own acclaimed sample packs + he teaches lessons on the side! A true renaissance man - we're extremely happy with this release and cant wait to see what else he's got cooking up.

Tane - Inspirational Speeches

“City Dreams”, the third single from Telemakus’ forthcoming release “The New Heritage”,  is a futuristic electronic jazz arrangement inspired by hip hop and new wave jazz. This track bounces between several sections within the composition, making for an interesting journey through sound.The track came together collaboratively, with each musician bringing their own ideas. Telemakus then shaped the pieces together for the first half, and let fellow pianist and arranger Javier Santiago take the helm for the second. Taking roughly one year to create, this track is an amalgam of ideas, progressions, and sounds distilled into a liquid drip of pure jazz funk. “City Dreams” is an epic journey that truly unfolds the last movement before the entirety of “The New Heritage” drops. 

‘The New Heritage’ , out October 13th, represents Telemakus’ lineage growing up in the jazz scene, gigging locally in the Bay Area. Being a self-taught pianist, the artist has a unique gift for harmony which evidently translates into the LP’s tracks as a continuous flow of inspiration. Having found his own sound listening to the likes of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, DJ Harrison, and Robert Glasper, Telemakus’ has developed a deeply personal style, as he likes to define it, “off-kilter and unique”. Having written and arranged all the album’s instrumental parts, Telemakus joins forces with a host of incredible musicians to paint a series of stunning soundscapes. This is a truly special body of work and we can't wait to unveil it over the coming months.
