To celebrate Saint Jean Baptiste Day, which is a big deal in our hometown of Montreal, Turbo took over Piknic Electronik for a major Quebec outdoor party vibefest. It was a blast, another in an endless sequence of amazing hometown shows that always reminds me why I still live in Montreal. Here is my closing 2 hour set in its entirety, starting with Let's Go Dancing and ending with Clouds.... with a whole bunch of good tracks in between. Thanks to Piknic, and the Turbo crew, and of course my home town.

“With this mix, I've been very inspired by a specific uplifting yet rolling sound that I've only been able to categorize in my efforts of organization as "forward feeling". Its a sound and a feeling that has always been a feature in my sets, and doesn't necessarily feel tied to a genre. Recently I've been digging for it more and finding a lot of fun and happiness when I play it out. It feels like the moment of when you're surrounded by friends and locked into a groove and the crowd is dancing together as one. Life + Times: Annie Mac Monthly Mix #5

Breakin / Electro / Funk. A selection of predominantly Breakdance and Electro tunes from the early 80's mixed by me, and some of my fave tunes from the Breakdance Movies i used to watch as a kid. Iv got this mix elsewhere online and is quite popular on YouTube, but this is a longer version compared to the copy on YouTube, and with enhanced sound quality.

I put alot of time and effort into preparing and mixing this.You can certainly hear in these old tunes how they was a pre cursor for house music.Lots of the beats and samples then went on to be used in the 80's house and early 90's hardcore tunes that followed.
