Does any one havecthe jimgle from the 90’s of Beacon from the wrekin jingle? It have a list of the towns in shropshire as did the 97.2 jimgle for the Black country

At 0:22 seconds the voiceover is Chris Harper. He joined Beacon in August 1976 (from Swansea Sound) and stayed until mid-1980 when he moved Alberta, Canada. He's still there and is the owner/creative cirector at ADVICE Advertising & Marketing in Calgary. Great presenter, great voice and great guy.

The voiceover at 4:10 is Mark Williams.  He was at Beacon from its start until early 1979.  He'd come from Radio City and in 1979 he went to work in Australia, Canada and then numberous stations in the UK.

Beacon's first news jingle at 8:44 based on Isaac Hayes'  "Theme from Shaft".

This montage contains various jingles and idents from the erstwhile "Chiltern Radio Network" (Chiltern Radio Group) stations in England and Wales. The audio concentrates on Chiltern Radio's expansionist era between the launch of 'Northants 96' (which replaced Hereward Radio's Northampton service) in November 1986, until September 1995 when the network was acquired by GWR Group PLC. The radio stations have changed ownership several times since 1995 and are now branded as either 'Heart' (Four Counties), 'Heart' (Hertfordshire), 'Heart' (Gloucestershire), 'Smooth Radio' (Herts, Beds & Bucks), 'Smooth Radio' (Northamptonshire), 'Smooth Radio' (Gloucestershire) or 'Kiss' (Severn Estuary).

The FM radio stations:- Chiltern Radio 97.6 (Herts, Beds & Bucks), Chiltern Radio 96.9 (East of England), Northants 96/Northants Radio 96.6 (Heart of England), Horizon Radio 103.3 (Milton Keynes & Buckinghamshire), Oasis Radio 96.6 (Hertfordshire), Severn Sound 102.4 (Gloucestershire), Galaxy Radio 97.2 (Bristol)/Galaxy 101 (Severn Estuary).

Chiltern Radio Network - Jingles and Idents Montage (1986 - 1995)

This montage contains jingles, idents and *off-air audio clips from Beacon Radio, which served the West Midlands and Shropshire, England. 

The station commenced broadcasting in 1976 on 303 metres, 989 kHz (realigned to the universal 990 kHz definition) and 97.2 VHF/FM to the Wolverhampton and Black Country area(s), before extending to nearby Shropshire in 1987 on 103.1 FM. The AM/FM frequencies split in 1989 and an 'melodic-orientated' station was launched - "Nice 'n' Easy Radio WABC". A Shropshire AM transmitter was added during 1990, although WABC became a general 'oldies' station in 1991. 

Beacon's parent company was purchased by GWR Group PLC and rebranded as 'Beacon FM' in 1997, before reverting back to 'Beacon Radio' in 2005. The name WABC was gradually phased out in favour of GWR's 'Classic Gold', before latterly becoming 'Gold'.

Beacon's AM and FM services were purchased by Orion Media in 2009 along with other former Gcap Media stations in the Midlands. The name disappeared altogether in 2012 when Beacon along with BRMB, Mercia and Wyvern became 'Free Radio'. 'Gold' in the former Beacon, BRMB and Mercia areas were rebranded 'Free Radio 80's'.

In 2013; Free Radio moved out of Beacon's historic studios at '267 Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton' and moved to Oldbury in Warley.
